Recommended by the Japanese Community and as authentic a sushiya as you will find in or outside of Japan. It was a perfect dining experience and the hospitality most hospitable too. Having lived and worked in Japan for 6 years and spent more than half of my life working in Japanese cuisine and with Japanese people, I truly felt welcomed and well looked after throughout my meal. The traditional sushiya atmosphere was also a slice of nostalgia direct from Japan. The chef usually speaks a unique form of Sushi Japanese to create a fresh atmosphere and whilst preparing the sushi there were familiar sounds resonating from the counter kitchen as he focused his culinary art on masterfully producing each piece of nigiri. It was nice to be able to relax and enjoy the omakase menu. Each sushi was pristine and of the highest quality. The perfect balance of kome and neta ( rice and topping). Each one of the nigiri was sublime and melted in the mouth. The gari (sushi ginger) on the side and green tea helped cleanse my palate between each nigiri and as I approached the end , I was completely satisfied with each and every bite I had eaten. I fully understand why the Japanese community here in Finland recommended Wagacoro and I also highly recommend to everyone to try. A point to note is that from April this year til July there is pipe works being done in the area and so the restaurant will be temporarily closed. I look forward to returning in the near future. Read moreA Japanese couple runs Wagacoro, and with all the fantastic reviews, we were eager to taste the sushi. We ordered the 40 pieces of family sushi and the chef's selection of nigiri. Beautiful chopsticks! (not the typical throwaway ones). The fish was super-fresh and tepid (as it should be). The rice was delicious, clearly much better than at most sushi places. The variation of fish was slightly limited; for instance, no squid, octopus, eel or roe. I wondered if this was because they would be closed the following week for vacation. Also, two of the maki pieces were far too big; nigiri should be mouth-sized pieces. After all, eating sushi is not cheap, so you should not expect anything else...
Read more12.8.2020. I reserved a table via Facebook message on their page and preordered Chef's choice Omakase nigiri & roll for 22€. After I arrived sushi were served in a couple of minutes. It was the freshest and softest fish I tasted in sushi, beautifully made and served. Definitely worth its price. The Japanese couple who own the restaurant were wery friendly, we had a small chat. There are two tables, probably the place can accommodate 8 customers at a time. Its advised to reserve a table if you want to eat in or preorder to take away. I recommend this place if you want the freshest and highest quality sushi in...
