The atmosphere was lovely, but taking in consideration that we visited on a Thursday evening and so it was not busy. Music was nice, not too loud and not a too low, just perfect to enjoy the background music while being to discuss comfortably with my daughter 22y even though there was some 3-5 minutes where music went off.
We have small stomachs so we shared a starter ordered each a main then shared a dessert. It took around 2 hours from when we sat down to the moment we left.
Starter was escargots in garlic and cheese sauce, perfectly cooked still juicy yet a light crunchy top crust created by the cheese and garlic. None of the flavours were over powering so everything complemented each other beautifully. (I really needed to stop myself when I got the urge of dipping my finger into the dish to lick the remaining if the sauce… I am so proud of myself for not doing that 😂)
I took the “BLACK ANGUS TENDERLOIN” medium+ and Cognac and green peppercorn sauce. My daughter ordered “FINNISH RIB EYE” also medium+ with Creamy mushroom sauce and we shared Rustic fries as a side. The steaks were cooking to a perfection, the sauces were almost perfect, I would have liked few extra peppercorns in my sauce, but it was lovely never the less.
For dessert we shared an “AFTER 8” which was warm chocolate cake served with mint ice-cream. The mint ice cream was a beautiful one (it was a like a real hand made ice-cream), I would have preferred a bit peppermint flavour but that is personal preference, to be totally honest the ice-cream was a true delight and worked well with the chocolate cake. Said that the ice cream is a bit too powerful in flavour, so when eaten with the cake, really small portions should be taken to each bite, if by mistake a little more of the ice-cream is taken it covers the cake flavour totally. Now to the cake, it was heaven on earth to lava/mud cake lovers (my daughter is one, I rarely like chocolate desserts). The rock salt in the cake gave me that little pleasure of salt/sweet flavour that I find enjoyable, the middle of the cake was perfectly gooey. And for me adding that little of the mint ice-cream made it perfect. I can’t believe I enjoyed a chocolate dessert this much. My daughter described as the most perfectly satisfying cake she have had in a restaurant in many years.
The waiter/waitress was wonderful. The waiter/waitress asked the right questions, recommended drinks even though I was sad that I had to stick with water, came to ask how things were 3 times throughout our meal and asked if we enjoyed or had any comments after each course. The waiters were around but not too nosy nor bothering the tables. We had the perfect timely wait for each dish and they were placed so nicely in front of us.
I believe I will visit again when visiting my daughter...
Read moreThe food was delicious, well cooked, very well presented (especially the cheesecake dessert) and calm enjoyable atmosphere (it was a hockey game night so this was to be expected). The salad unfortunately had too much sauce. Impressive wine/drinks menu if you want to go wild. I'm not used to restaurants in Finland so it did seem a bit more expensive for this level of cuisine, but it definitely was the best restaurant I went to over the 4 days I spent. The windows/cleaning could have been cared for a little more to make the...
Read moreA great place to visit; we always go here when we’re in town. Nice ambiance, good menu. Food is great with a selection of finished dishes to choose from or with option to choose a protein and then customize with sauces and sides. This was probably our 5th visit and we were super happy with all the food. Thanks and...
