We have enjoyed several lunches here. You may choose a sallad bar + soup or a daily hot meal on reduced lunch price list or order from athe menu. The sallad bar + soup is usually good and enough for lunch, the meal may sometimes be quite small and you have to pay extra for sallad with it. There are several parking halls near by. The restaurant is next to the Paviljonki, local hall for events so it may be full booked If there is a big event on the hall. Food is italian style and the athmosphere is quite cozy and nice. Serving takes time especially If you order something not on the lunch list. There is sauna and place for private occasions upstairs and it is recommended by many due to nice views and athmosphere, but slow service. Unfortunately cannot tell about the hotel. Place is situated next to place where there are many events also outside during summer. Even though the location is not on downtown Jyväskylä it is only a few hundrend meters away and you can easily walk to downtown by using a pedestrian tunnel which goes over the railway. Railway station is on the other edge of this tunnel. Harbour with restaurant boats and nice path by lake Jyväskylä is...
Read moreTrattoria is sort of inside the lounge and reception area + bar of a hotel. The menu is mainly Mediterranean / Italian. Dishes' names and courses are in Italian and the ingredients are in English. Food was fragrant. I had pasta alla carbonara. Maybe the spagetti was too dry. That just happens sometimes. For dessert I had pannacotta with a slash of berries and reduced sweet rhubarb sauce topping. The pannacotta was nice and sturdy with rich flavor. I only drank water. I don't drink any alcohol but I think their wine list was near extensive. Don't know about the spirits. The restaurant seats maybe 200 and the atmosphere was nice, ambient temperature and noise moderate even though it was busy. The lighting didn't hurt my eyes and I could clearly see what I was eating. I think the restaurant has some acoustic treatment like feltwool panels and soft carpets. The tables were sturdy and my chair was extra comfortable for a plywood seat. Go there. Check the menu. Enquire about reservations. The waitresses were kind, on point, knowledgeable and didn't rush us....
Read moreGood and fast service, had dinner during Tuesday evening, so the place wasn't too busy. Appetizer bread was quite nice, actually. The quality of the main dish was fairly sorry, which may be due to my own choice of Pollo Carbonara - a dish on the lower end of prices, but I did have a hankering for a pasta. The chicken wasn't terrible, but it wasn't very flavorful either. Pasta did not feel fresh. Presentation good. Wine was decent.
Very mild overall, perhaps just to typical Finnish taste, but I've had better pasta carbonara, and for cheaper.
I may visit again just for drink and antipasti. Would dine too, if the quality of the food improves, but the establishment is likely constrained by the...
