Probably the worst dining experience I had in Finland !!
We arrived and were completely ignored, waited over 10 minutes while the staff looked at us without greeting or seating us. We had to complain just to get our reserved table. And where did they seat us? In a corridor, right in front of the entrance. When we asked to move, we were told other tables were "reserved", even though the restaurant was mostly empty. Spoiler: several of those tables stayed unoccupied all evening.
Drinks: Ordered mocktails, barely half a glass, lots of ice. Tasted okay, but €9 for that? Ridiculous.
Starters: The “King Prawn” dish came with just three small shrimp (not even king sized) on a bed of salad. Totally overpriced.
Main course: The cowboy steak was a disaster. Overcooked, extremely thick, and nothing like the picture on the menu. Honestly shocking for a grill restaurant. Not worth the money.
Desserts: The crème brûlée was laughable, a paper-thin layer, more like a tart crust with sugar. Never seen anything like it. The chocolate cake was fine, but clearly store-bought, not homemade.
Service: Appalling. Asked four times for a carafe of water, ended up having to get up to get it ourselves. Staff walked past a customer’s jacket on the floor, some even stepped on it, and no one said a word or helped. That's shameful.
Final verdict: This place looks fancy on the outside, but it’s really just a roadside diner in disguise. Flashy décor doesn’t make up for poor service, low-quality food, and a complete lack of...
Read moreMy expectations were high but they still managed to exceed them. A perfect dinner, I cannot fathom how any aspect could have been improved in any way. We wanted a broad spectrum of their menu so took the combo platter with three meats: beef, iberian pork and chiken skewer. The platter comes with two side dishes of your choosing, we ended up ordering three: parmesan fries, beans with Bacon and ratatouille. The platter came with a bunch of fried tomatoes, paprikas (peppers) and zucchinis plus both bearnaise and yoghurt dressing. Everything was insanely delicious and we devoured every last crumb in foodgasmic extacy. Barely had room for a literally "melts in your mouth" creme brulee and coffee. The service was overwhelmingly kind and warm and professional and I personally loved the view over river Aura and the very spacious seating. This is a high class restaurant so the price range is not suitable for students etc but not at all higher than restaurants of similar class. All in all a 10/10 experience, highly recommend...
Read moreThe food is good, but the service is... what seems to be “typical Finnish”. I came a little earlier than my friends and I was just sitting there for 20 minutes, nobody offered me to order a drink. Then, once we were eating, it does not occur to them to come and check if we need a refill on the water, same with the bill – you gotta get up, look for a water or a waitress and ask for whatever you need. It would be nice if they were checking on the customers every once in a while – especially when the restaurant is half empty. I did not come there for a burger king service, but wanted to take my relatives and friends some place nice. The rest is nice, I like that there is enough room, unlike in many other Finnish restaurants, where you lean back slightly and touch someone...
