Perinteikäs ravintola, joka on nykyisin alkuperäisten omistajien hallussa (2025). Täällä tuli käytyä jo 2000-luvun alkupuolella.

Hyvät ja sopivan kokoiset annokset – nälkä ei jää, eli kyseessä on rehti ravintola. Menusta löytyy kattava valikoima italialaisruokia, erityisesti laajat pizza- ja pastalistat. Tavaramerkiksi muodostunut alkusalaatti sisältyy annoksiin. Myös lounas on maukas (vaihtuvat annoslounaat ja kattava salaattipöytä).

Miljöö (maalais-italialais-rustica) on kotoisa ja tunnelmallinen. Henkilökunta – erityisesti, jos vanhan koulukunnan tarjoilijat sattuvat kohdalle – on erinomaista. Ravintolassa on paljon asiakaspaikkoja, mutta pöydät on sijoitettu melko tiiviisti. Kadunpuolen terassipöytien lisäksi talon sisäpihalla on hieman rauhallisempi terassi. Maisemat eivät kuitenkaan ulkona ole erityisen viehättävät Turun keskustassa.

Ravintola on suosittu, joten suosittelen pöydän varaamista, erityisesti suuremmille porukoille, ryhmille tai iltaisin ja pyhinä. Pöytä on helppo varata verkkosivujen kautta.

A traditional restaurant currently run by its original owners (2025). I've been visiting this place since the early 2000s.

Good, reasonably sized portions – you won’t leave hungry, making this a straightforward and honest restaurant. The menu offers a comprehensive selection of Italian dishes, with particularly extensive pizza and pasta options. Their trademark starter salad is included with the meals. The lunch is also tasty (rotating meal options and a comprehensive salad buffet).

The ambiance (rural Italian rustic style) is cozy and atmospheric. The staff – especially if you're served by the old-school waiters – is excellent. The restaurant has plenty of seating, though the tables are placed quite close to each other. In addition to the street-side terrace tables, there’s a slightly quieter terrace in the inner courtyard. However, the outdoor views in the city center of Turku aren’t particularly appealing.

The service at Pizzeria Dennis is good but everything else leaves a lot to be desired. The pizzas or “Finnish style” which is kind of charming in an old school way but what’s less charming is the some of the low quality ingredients used as pizza toppings. I ordered Quattro Stagioni and the pizza was quite disappointing. Far too much garlic that tasted off and over powered everything else. The ‘ham’ was some very tough strips of processed meat that was very industrial tasting and quite unpleasant. Shrimps, mushrooms and artichokes were fine but completely overshadowed by the unpleasant garlic flavour. I did not expect an Italian pizza but I was disappointed by low...
