Upon arriving, amiable guys knowing their job and foods are welcoming you. Service is a plus, and it was nice to be there.

The interior is too simple, even ascetic. Furniture looks and feels a bit like it would be second-hand; chairs are rather uncomfortable (especially once you spend two-plus hours on them); weird, almost dead, plant(s) from the 70s; undecorated and a bit worn walls. I know that the restaurant locates in the ex-prison, but its decor is kind of too good for an old prison and way too lacking for a stylized prison.

We have got mixed feelings about the food. We had perfect fish (nice flavors, textures) and far from ideal meat (way too salty, with razor-sharp stone-hard bread-crumbles-from-hell that tried to break your teeth and cut your cheeks) for the starter. There was an excellent steak for the main dish, accompanied by rather meh potatoes in a pan with kimchi, cheese, mayo, and who-knows-what-else. There was an okay cupcake with ice cream for the dessert, but nothing special - one can easily prepare a similar dessert at home.

The food quality is uneven and lacks the unifying concept: half of the offerings were "classy" (starters, steaks), and the other half - "homemade" (potatoes, desserts). We did not like the idea of sharing the food: all dishes, except desserts, came on single plates, and we had to split those ourselves while ruining the beautiful look of the food and instantly demoting it into the do-it-yourself class. Also, clay plates with old-looking-must-be-prison-kind utensils are usually not a good combo. They are appropriate at Harald, but not here, especially not with the types of food served.

The restaurant is positioning itself on the higher end of the Turku eating landscape. But, in my opinion, they have a lot of work ahead of them to get there. All in all, it is okay, but not much more. At least...

I will give detailed explanation with max the 10 i give 10 to the waitress took the order and take care of us during our lunch i give 9,5 to the kitchen staff i would give 10 but was some tiny issue that take the 0,5 point from them 10 for the starters 10 for the drinks, beer and wine was the best i drink for long time now 6 for the main dish ,the fish was amazing little to much salt ,but the side dish was some oily potatoes and some oven cooked root vegetables that didnt match the quality of the fish plate ,you could have something more fresh less oily (you had cucumber at the starters ,fresh mushrooms ,fresh tilli, ruoho supuli )i dont understand why not use some green salad for the fish some carrots or something fresh in general 11 for the desert it was so good 7 for the space between the tables i would love some more privacy and last and shocking was the WC that i give kindly 3 i dont mind that the were container wc but getting from the warm restaurant in minus degrees to walk to the wc and inside i dont know who had this rocket science idea to put an air heater to blow air directly at the toilet ,use a oil radiator . I will definitly go again but spring...

We had an really good experience ! From kindly and professional service to amazing flavor and taste, all the steps were unique. We decided to go on the lunch feast. Entrées: salad, fresh cheese with incredible subtle flavor and fresh sourdough bread. For the main course we had intense caramelized veal cheeks with thick juice accompagnée with amazingly roasted potatoes with an excellent green sauce, turnip on the side with mustard seeds... exquisite meal! All pair with an organic Italian rose wine. For the dessert we had pepper ice cream with white chocolat cream. Don't doubt on eaten here...for 45€ per person ..this kind of quality is a rare, the only point I will improve from this experience is them to provide more bread...

Super cool location, this is an old prison. Lot of different spots to dine at, but make sure to book a table! We took the suggested menu ”Kakola Feast/Pidot” which consisted of a total of 6 dishes for two people. There was plenty of food, all of which were great! The only dish neither of us liked too much was the salmon starter. Tartar and beef were my absolute favorites! Staff is very friendly and very happy to help with the food. Their bread and butter plate was absolutely delishious (the bread comes from Bageri Å, which is located next door). Would definitely pay this place a visit! ☺️
