Restaurant Göran — Restaurant in Turku sub-region

We were about to order the lunch , we’re in the queue to pay for the lunch before 15:00, queued as they were making coffee for other patrons before us, happened to queue past the lunch hour, were told we could not buy lunch in a very mater of fact way, which felt quite dismissive and rude. Plus we are quite hungry so it’s not nice for the kids. I’ve worked service industry, I know how it can be with these things, but I would always try to be accommodating to families with small children m, especially if it was only a few minutes after serving time and was a situation I had created.

Edit - just to respond to the reply bellow, I think you could ask your staff to be more accommodating, I understand they may be on a schedule and sometimes it feels like compromises like this might slow down the staff's push from lunch to dinner, but when there are small kids(2 and 6), its cold and you are the only option for museum patrons to feed themselves flexibility would be important. Maybe this comes from top down, from management, it would have meant a more pleasant experience at both Göran and the museum. I don't see why the staff member couldn't have said "we have just finished serving lunch, but if you could quickly get your plates together its ok". There were clearly people who had just paid for the lunch shortly before we were stuck...

I have never received such bad service in Finland like in this restaurant. We have been a family of 3 and asked for a table for us. Waitress told us to pick a table even thought there was no empty space and only couple dirty tables. We stood next to the possible table to be cleaned for some time and it was not cleaned even after we have asked. We went to register and asked for table to be cleaned and waitress brushed us off with "yeah yeah we clean them all the time". Then we ordered and waited another 10 minutes after paying. We eneded up cleaning up table ourselves and then waitress came to "clean". So unprofessional to take money from cusotmer and put them in such situation to end up doing wanted job because no one is available.

Disrespectful service. Came on the weekend for lunch and it was all booked. So instead of apologising for inconvenience the staff berated us that we should have booked it in advance. We were tourists visiting Turku and did not know. The website did not mention the necessity to book ahead either. So how on earth would we have known?! We had a 70+ yo lady with bad knees with us, and it was raining outside. The staff told us off like little children instead of making us feel welcome. Not coming back for that experience and...
