Cucina Angelina — Restaurant in Albertville

Please please please ignore the negative reviews (on TripAdvisor) of Cucina Angelina they are simply wrong! We nearly didn’t go because of them but I am very glad we did. We went in spite of them and because we have eaten in Murano in London (superb) and I have a lot respect for Ms Hartnett as a chef.

My wife and I went to Cucina Angelina last night and the whole experience was faultless.

From the greeting (including the manager coming to the lounge to say hullo with the offer of complimentary glass of champagne, though I know not why), the service, the food (the dessert menu was perfection) and being near vegan it is lovely to see the word vegan on a menu in France) to the decor, it was just a perfect evening. All the staff were lovely but I particularly want to compliment our waiter. All I know is that he was English, spoke perfect French and his mother was German. He was the consummate professional and a real credit to the restaurant. And I want to thank the sommelier for persuading me to have the glass of Roussette Grand Maretel Domaine St Romain; It was delicious and something very different. A delicious Savoie wine.

We will be back either on skis for lunch or to repeat the evening before the season ends.

This is a pretty poor restaurant on a number of fronts, the primary one being the food which in general was very bland (the pasta), painfully salty (the meat), or bone dry (the desert/cake). A full house if you will, with average cocktails to match.

Add to that a strange setting in which you’re somewhat lead to believe you’re in a high class/top tier environment, almost tricking you that what’s in front of you might be of some reasonable quality.

It’s unlikely you’ll be fooled, but if you somehow are the wrong dishes they bring, the extra drinks they leave on the bill, and the general lack of apology for any of the above will set you straight.

A shame for a wonderfully located hotel in a great resort that should be doing so much better - the service was relatively pleasant which adds an extra star to an otherwise low...

My family had the worst experience ever in this restaurant. We had an issue with a dish and I understand it can happen anywhere but the way Clementine - the manager of this restaurant dealt with it was absolutely unprofessional. She was so rude and arrogant and even sweared to me in front of my children which is beyond all understanding.

I am always super positive and kind. This is my first negative review I have ever written. I decided to share it because it is not the way anyone should talk to the client. Especially the manager of the restaurant.

She ruined the whole experience at Cucina Angelina. My family is extremely disappointed...
