This is a cheese shop and restaurant. The shop is amazing and worth a visit, but this review regards the restaurant mostly.

We ate here last week (group of 9), and the experience was mixed. The waitresses were very kind. And while the food was delivered very fast, the drinks took quite a while.

For a cheese fondue/raclette restaurant you expect a decent white wine, but we ordered the most expensive one and it still tasted like sulfide.

We ordered 2 raclette 2 fondue with cheese recommendation of the waitress, and while the fondue tasted very good, the portions were kinda small. It was the exact opposite for the raclette, which tasted kinda bland while the portion was quite large.

I would love to return here with only having the fondue, but that means no wine because im not drinking anymore white wine that tastes like sulfide, and drinking red with cheese is...

You must go to La Fromagerie if you are in Meribel and love fondue. The place was packed on a Thursday night, so be sure to book a reservation in advance. For 21 euros per head, you get 200 grams of cheese each, an unlimited bread supply, and the usual cornichons and onions to go with the meal. You can also supplement with a charcuterie board for an additional 14 euros. The menu is relatively simple as the specialities are fondue and raclette. There is also a small selection of wines that can be ordered at a reasonable price. Take notice of the other reviews and be warned - you are in the basement of a cheese shop so expect to leave smelling like cheese. You will certainly smell La Fromagerie long before you cross its threshold. It may take a moment to adapt as the strong smell of cheese can be physically striking, but recedes to background once you are seated. The food is made of fresh local ingredients where the cheese is the star of the show. My half of the table went with the raclette, the serving of which is a key part of the experience.
