Great group dinner! We came here on our last night with a group of friends, and enjoyed our dinner immensely! The food was the best we had in Meribel, fondue, tartiflette, duck, gnocchi - everything was delicious. The service was nice and the atmosphere was very cozy. PS: Don’t get put off by the low rating, some of the ratings apparently are from older days of the restaurant, but they’ve gotten much better in recent years

Plutôt mitigée. Franchement les plats étaient très bon, nous nous sommes régalés. Le problème a été l’accueil. Le serveur nous a pas décoché un « Bonsoir » en revanche un petit regard de travers et un « C’est pour quoi ? ». Ah ? Et bien là j’avais dans l’optique de danser la Samba au milieu de la salle ?? Non franchement pour une première impression, elle a été mauvaise.. Ensuite on nous fait attendre quelques temps en nous disant qu’une table nous était destinée. Au final plusieurs personnes nous sont passé devant. C’était plutôt frustrant. La chef de rang était un peu rustre mais très gentilles au final, elle nous a accompagnés tout le repas merci à elle, au final ça nous a plu on avait l’impression d’être copains. Bon passons au plat, pour le prix c’est bon mais comme on s’y attend d’un restaurant de Méribel, ça reste chère. Je ne conseille pas la pizza apéritif, elle n’est pas rentable et pas très bonne. La tartiflette en revanche était excellente et leur burger très interessant, mayonnaise maison, frite de même. Nous n’avons pas été déçus. En ce qui concerne les portions pour notre part elles ont été suffisantes. Nous n’avons même pas pris de desserts. Peu mieux faire mais je recommande quand même !

Highly recommended! We really liked this restaurant - very tasty cuisine, we went here every day for dinner! Madame the owner always greeted us warmly - very pleasant, puts her soul into her restaurant - it's amazing! We tried the pumpkin with filling - it's unforgettable! Foie gras, homemade terrine, delicious fondue, beef steak, pork, pizza, desserts - everything was great! We will be back for sure!

The staff are incredibly rude and food is mediocre at best.

Five of us went for our last meal in Meribel, 2 of the meals were stone cold and when we notified a staff member she just snorted and took the food away without apologising. 5 minutes later the food came back still cold in the middle and dry on the outside like they'd just left it under a lamp for 5 minutes.

I informed the staff member that the food was bad and the service worse and she just replied by saying that no one ever complains here so it must be me that's the issue.

I would highly recommend you avoid this place and...

Had a lovely evening at Le Refuge. We weren’t sure heading into the dinner as there are some very divisive reviews from a year or so back, but could not resist trying it due to the cozy atmosphere. And we’re so glad we did as we couldn’t have been happier with our meal. The wine, salad and pizza (we had the vegetarian which was so lovely) was wonderful. Staff were super nice as well. We had the Refuge salad, which was completely plain and had no distinctive features, and we paid 21 euros for it. We ordered the Nordic pizza, which was terrible and we couldnt finish it. Additionally, we ordered the Caiiun roll, which was an extremely mediocre dish that definitely didn’t justify its price; we paid 41 euros for it.
