To celebrate the end of a wonderful holiday in Meribel, we decided to go for a meal at Le Close Up. It can be busy, especially on Wednesdays and Thursdays (chalet host's days off) so we booked in advance. When we arrived, we were greeted by a waiter. He was very friendly and explained the concept of the restaurant. Around the room were optical illusion paintings that were entertaining to study. There was a display of brain teaser games and toys that we were invited to play with. We ordered a half bottle of red wine to go with our food. My boyfriend ate duck which came with boiled potatoes and he said was very tasty. My sister and I both had hot stone beef, duck and pork (which had a minimum order of 2). The meat was tender and delicious and was served with red peppers, mushrooms, side salad and tender new potatoes. For dessert, my boyfriend had tiramisu which was more like a chocolate mouse as there was no coffee in it, but it was tasty. My sister enjoyed the rum and raisin ice cream. Would highly...
Read moreProbably one of the best value for money restaurants in the area. Went there for dinner with some friends, we ordered various items including two cheese fondues, main dishes, and dessert, and everyone was very happy with their dish. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, as we were initially seated in an area with a very loud group on the table next to us, so the waitress offered to move us to a quieter table on the other side of the restaurant without us asking. They were generally so friendly throughout the dinner and they even surprised us with a quick magic show at the end of the night. Highly recommended restaurant with very good sized portions. However, I would recommend booking at least one...
