I was very much not impressed. Assumingly due to a higher standard in Belgium and the Netherlands due to a large Indian community, the food served at basic Indian restaurants in these countries is much better than at this restaurant: -the cheese naan had what it felt like Vache qui rit cheese inside, which is not what u put into a cheese naan normally -the garlic naan lacked garlic, didn't smell or taste like it at all -lassies felt dilluted. Usually u drink one and u already feel full, as this is effectively almost yogurt, so something very filling. This felt dilluted, but the portion is big. Maybe due to being dilluted, dunno -the chicken and lamb were not well and not evenly cooked in the main courses -the starter tikka massala chicken was good -the service was not friendly. No smile, the treatment we got felt grumpy. When we asked to take excess naan home (simply cause throwing away food is not what we do), we were asked if we had our own container. When we said no, we got a reply "Next time you will think about it", lol. Like we're supposed to carry own tappleware on us when we fo to restaurants. I don't understand French 100%, just a bit, but I was with someone who does and he confirmed it was not friendly and my feeling was correct. -I removed the empty drinking glasses from the table thinking we don't need them and also because we didn't have space on the table with all the dishes. Only to see later that all the other tables got a jar with water and used those drinking glasses for it. We were not even asked if we wanted some water.
Overall, if u come from somewhere else and u tried Indian cuisine in other countries, this will probably...
Read moreI ordered three items from this restaurant: biryani, butter chicken, and cheese naan. While the butter chicken and cheese naan were good, I was quite disappointed with the biryani. What I received was more like fried rice—white rice cooked with some spices—rather than an authentic biryani, which is typically made by layering and slow-cooking the rice with the meat and vegetables after adding the spices of the biryani
The dish itself was fine in terms of taste, but for someone familiar with Indian cuisine, especially such a famous dish, it was not what I expected. If you're looking for a proper biryani experience, this might not be the right place. However, the other items we tried...
! Pour nous ce fut la première et...
