TASTES AND FEELINGS OF THE OLD VILLAGE In the heart of the peaceful little square of Annecy-le-vieux, this XIV century building has become the warm house of a cosy bistrot, a welcoming restaurant where the young chef and his group deftly elevate the "cuisine de canaille" (dishes of common people) to a smart and tasteful meal offer. The courses - serving meat, fish and vegetables - are in line with the tradition, even tough the creative touch of the chef is critical. Flavours, textures and temperatures are enhanced and well combined. The service is casual and friendly; waiting time is appropriate. The quality/price ratio is excellent, with a three-course menu served at 33€. Highly recommended if staying or passing by the city of Annecy.

Comments on the dishes. Among the starters, the springy asparagi flavours is paired with a gentle Holland sauce, while the crusty pate kicks in the rural feeling. As main courses, the masterly roasted "Onglet a l'echalote" is a proof of the chef's technical skills, while the anduillet with the hot mustard is the marvelland of spiciness. In the desserts, the chocolate pot is a gluttony temptation, while the "Pain Perdu... retrouvé" is the house signature which brings along childish memories of countryside snacks, coupling the cosy smell of the warm bread with the colder ice cream. All the courses pictured and descripted above have been personally tried, but the others have set high expectations as well and are waiting to be chosen...

Truly an amazing evening of incredible food and even better service. From the moment we arrived we were greeted warmly and Mathieu took the time the explain the menu to us. I am sorry I did not get the name of our server but he gave us perfect wine recommendations for our meal. A flavor explosion for all three courses. Well worth the effort to come to this restaurant in picturesque Annecy Vielle. Merci beaucoup Mathieu!

Terrible rude service with average food served by pretentious waiters at okay prices but not for the quality of food. Can't blame the servers as the manager (guy with white hair/shirt operating the cash machine is really rude) He even pushed a baby carriage roughly (with the baby in it) out of the way to point out it was blocking the way. He seemed to be nice to the people he knew. An absolute stain on beautiful France!
