PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE YOU BOOK FOR THIS RESTAURANT IF YOU CARE ABOUT HYGIENE & TASTE.
Environment & service We reserved a table along with our credit card details because it was requested from the restaurant, i guess it to fine those who booked and no show. So when i reached the restaurant at 7pm, me and my wife were expecting a decent table or at least a normal seating, but the seemed to be Floor Manager quickly bring us to end of the shop and seated us next to a toilet and she left us with a smirk on her cheeks ( i am not exaggerating ) . Just to describe how my seat is , when i look to my right side, if the door is open, i can see the toilet bowl.
I asked the young male staff if i could change my seat because i saw there are a few tables empty at the front of the shop but sadly he said the restaurant was fully booked. So we just accept our fate and continue to dine there. As the time passed ( 30mins to 1hr ) there were no show for the "reserved tables" but i wasnt offered a table change or what not, which i think its common servicing courtesy. Everytime someone went in or came out, both of us have to stop eating because it felt so DISGUSTING, we couldnt enjoy the food at all.
Food & Taste The food for me is maybe 2/10, we were quite shocked with the taste of the food giving the rating for the restaurant is 4.9/5.0 on google. Not too sure the rating was given by their own friends or staff because the flavour is like someone trying hard to be creative on doing fusion dishes but actually each course doesnt compliment each other, it given me the feeling of having different snacks from a hawker stall in a food court. But i do understand taste is subjective, thats up to you to explore if youre still going.
We dare not voice out our seating issue during the meal because we are afraid that they would add "extra sauce" into our food because its a 5 course meal. So i waited until i paid only i asked the floor manager lady why seating us there since there are empty seats even when we finish our meal.
She pretended she couldnt answer me in english, so she asked the young male waiter to talk to me, they kept saying the tables is reserved but the customer doesnt show up, but there is not seating booking in the website so basically whoever reserves and came early is first come first basis for the seating. They kept repeating the same thing saying its a party of 6 for the tables, but actually there are exactly 10 seats available ( do the math yourself ) when i asked why dont put us at the 2 seaters table, they couldnt answer, it makes me wonder is the seat in front of the shop was to kept empty so that people from outside would walk-in to dine.
Dont get me wrong, the servicing from the young male and female waiter was good and polite and they explain properly while serving, only when the Floor Manager serves us it seems like she doesnt care to talk or explain the dish, not too sure isit because we were Asians ?
Anyways, wont be coming back anymore but do remove the table next to the toilet because it is very disgusting...
Read moreI am writing this message because my wife gave this restaurant a bad review on our experience and they made up a fake story under her comment. Both of us have never left a negative review about a business in the past.
My wife decided to take me to Nuance on my birthday, and the experience we had was quite shocking.
When we arrived at the restaurant (all but one table were empty since we were early) they put us all the way in the back in front of the toilet. I asked the gentleman there nicely if it was possible to move us away from the toilet, and told him that we made a reservation since the people who arrived right before us didn’t have a reservation and were given a nice table at the front. His answer was « everyone makes a reservation”, and then the woman who I assume is the host and maybe the owner replied in French quite rudely that it wasn’t possible, and that we’d have to wait (by then she didn’t know my wife spoke French). Then they gave us what they said was the only option, a high table next to the entrance door (while all the other tables have a couch and more comfortable, and almost all were empty). We moved there without any issues or complains, said thank you, were very nice to the waitress and ordered a lot of items on the menu.
After few minutes 2 other groups came in with no reservations, and they were given the other tables without any issue. So my wife decided to ask quietly and nicely the host why this was a problem when we asked (since they made us feel so uncomfortable and out of line). At that point the chef starts yelling at me, saying that we were insulting them in English, which was absolutely not the case. We were there to have a good time for my birthday and did not at all insult them at any point. The chef continued to argue and raised his voice to the point that all other tables looked at us. We wanted to just stop the negative situation and move on with our dinner so we cut it short and didn’t continue the conversation (we finished our orders, got another drink, stayed friendly and left with no issue).
My wife then left a 1 star for the service due to this, and received a comment from the owner saying that we were “violent” and “aggressive”, which was absolutely not the case.
I have managed few restaurants and owned one in the past, so I can tell you that I know the hospitality business. It’s not about “client roi” like you say, it’s about respect and acknowledging when you were not fair with a customer.
We are locals in Annecy. I am no one to lecture you but when you loose a client like this by not controlling your ego and anger you actually loose 50.
Anyone who reads your answer to my wife can see the type of people who manages...

By the way, this is the first time I write a bad rating of a restaurant, you can imagine how bad my experience I had , for a person who is lazy to write review and comments, you can imagine how bad the experience it is.
Me and my husband booked this restaurant ( credit card needed to pre booked) , as we saw the rating of this restaurant is 4.9 and we do expect a 4.9 experience , end up when we came to this restaurant this evening , we got a surprise sit , the mature lady waiter guide us to the back of the restaurant , which a table just beside a toilet. We request to change our table, but another staff said it’s fully booked. so we continue sitting the same table but as we saw there’s a few 2 seated tables which is empty then we thought maybe those table is reserved, but even after we had finish our dinner at 8.40pm , those tables is still remain empty. I’m not the only one who had the same bad experience from this restaurant, looked into the post of Sertac Yildizhan, he and his wife had the same issue from this restaurant. Ok, back to the issue of sitting next to the toilet table, when the toilet door open by anyone whose using the toilet , you can directly see the toilet bowl facing you when you having your dinner 🤢🤢🤢 vomit, I really can’t , it’s damn disgusting for me and my husband, Somemore there’s a lot pp going in and out the toilet when we having our dinner ( I could say it’s the worst dine experience I ever had) , I’ve been traveled for a month in France and Italy , this is the worst experience restaurant me and my husband had dine. I don’t want to critic much on the food , it’s so so .the service of the younger waiters are friendly. I’m more dissapointed of the seating which eventually I had no appetite to eat anymore, what I taste and see is toilet bowl and smell 🤢🤢🤢 me and my husband quickly finish up the food so we can get away...
