Stayed at Pelican for one night and decided to have drinks and dinner there. Service was great and the drinks were good. Good recommandation for the wine. Food : beef wagyu was incredible, the magret was great too. Chicken poke bowl was fresh but unfortunately the soy dressing could have been better as it was more like soy sauce having been poured on the dish which made it impossible to finish (too salty and lacking any finesse). The Ceasar Salad was good but again the dressing was just ok. If you are lucky enough to be given a table in the verrière the ambiance is great with small lights on your table which make that part of the restaurant cosy and chic. Unfortunately, we were given a table at the other end of the restaurant in the far end corner (we had booked in advance and when we arrived for drinks bookings were still being accepted for hotel guests). The four of us had the feeling that we could well be having dinner in the restaurant of a medium range airport hotel. They made us laugh, but the pictures on the wall are sooo tacky. As for the hotel, we had a standard room which was comfortable. Loved the fact we could fill up a glass bottle from a water fountain by the lifts. Breakfast was just ok and we felt we would have been happier with the much cheaper option of breakfast bought at the hotel bakery where you can buy freshly baked bread and viennoiseries that you can then enjoy at tables located in the hotel lobby with fresh coffee and orange juice. The pastries there are very good and the lemon meringue pie...
Read moreVenue was nice, lovely terrace overlooking the lake, clean decor and friendly staff. Sadly, as the restaurant became busier, the service became very slow, leaving empty starter plates on the table for 15/20 minutes. We then ordered a mix of main courses ranging from sea bass to Australian wagyu, the fish and duck dishes were lovely however all the steaks were very tough (even the Australian wagyu at 65€/300g). Desserts were okay but nothing worth shouting home about. However, as we were preparing to leave it started to rain, therefore we headed to the bar to settle up to avoid getting wet. We gave them our last name to assist them in finding our tab, only to be met with the response “what am I supposed to do with that?”. Ah well… we...
Read moreWe had a lovely last minute dinner here and really enjoyed our experience. We were there on a Thursday evening and it was packed with business diners, it’s a popular place and understandably; the design is on par with the 4 star hotel, the staff are professional, and the lakeside location is perfect. We didn’t care for the iPad menus but apart from that, the menu is creative and complete. We don’t eat red meat so didn’t order what seems to be the specialty (aged premium meat) we opted instead for a salad and poke bowl accompanied by wine by the glass but couldn’t resist the dessert trolley 😍 For 120€ we had a lovely meal, really reasonably priced for the quality of the surroundings and the staff, would...
