Annecy is a charming city located in the southeast of France, known for its beautiful canals and bridges that have led many to compare it to Venice. Like Venice, Annecy is situated on the edge of a large lake (Lake Annecy) and is surrounded by picturesque mountains.
One of the main attractions of Annecy is its Old Town, which features narrow streets, historic buildings, and a network of canals that wind their way through the city. Visitors can take a boat tour of the canals or simply wander through the streets, enjoying the sights and sounds of this charming area.

It's no wonder so many Swiss either live here or get holiday homes here. It really is the perfect lakeside town. It gets pretty crowded and touristy during the summer though. Especially when it's only 45 minutes...
