Excellent Food at reasonable price
I visited this place on a Wednesday evening. Not too crowded and is perfect for a early dinner.
I had the Delirium Tremens, a great blonde beer that is malty, fruity and the flavor profile is quite complete.
I had the cold cuts as starter and the different types of meats are excellent with very distinct profile. It is a bit big if you are planning to have a full meal (entree, main course and dessert). I also tried their Garbure as my main course. It is a winter stew. Strong onion fragrance with carrots, potatos, beans and duck. Do recommend especially on a cold day. However, if you dont enjoy duck cuisine, the duck meat in the stew might be too strong for you.
I left with a full stomach and cannot even fit a dessert.
The resturant is well decorated with various signs. Staffs are nice and speaks English. There is also English menu. My server, Judien (I hope I spell it right), gave me great recommendations that I enjoy.
If you live in Malakoff or Vanves during your visit to Paris, this is an exceptional place to spend...

Being English speakers we didn't have any issues communicating with the staff as they spoke a reasonable (fluent to moderate)
If you do come, I suggest you arrive on an empty stomach! The portion sizes here are absolutely humongous!
The onion soup pretty much comes in a hand wash bowl and is on the starters menu; not the main course! And a main course meal could easily feed 2 people.. the portions were so huge we unfortunately didn't have space for dessert which we usually have.
Food wise, we felt it was very functional. The snails were the highlight as the garlic sauce was very flavourful.. the rest of the meals such as the onion soup, lb shank and beef with fois fres for us were distinctly average
We did enjoy ourselves though... The atmosphere is very accommodating, our waiters were also warm and friendly
This place definitely fills...
Read moreWow! What a find! This place is a little hidden gem. My wife had lamb shank and I had the Toulouse cassoulet. I cannot believe the portion sizes we were absolutely stuffed, we couldn't possibly manage a dessert. However.... We found the room for the Ile Flottante (floating island in English) The lightest meringue I've ever had the pleasure to taste. Never had one before but the bar has been set and I cannot wait to try another.
I cannot recommend this place enough, the atmosphere was buzzing, all the staff were friendly and welcoming, it was all good value for money too. The drinks menu was varied hugely, so many beers to choose from. Cannot remember what mine was called Red was in the name and it was so good! Strong and fruity but not too sweet. Really well balanced.
It's 5 stars from us...
