We have been customers of this restaurant for years, back when it was still run by the previous owner. In all this time the service and food have always been incredible and of course the view is stunning and remains so. This was our first time dining at Omma with it having new owners, the food remains at a very high level, but sadly the service was atrocious and very rude. When we arrived (we had previously made a reservation for 3 people over the phone) we were told by the waiter that our reservation was in fact for 2 and not 3 people, to which we replied that that was a mistake and we had previously reserved via the phone, the waiter then proceeded to argue back and forth with us telling us we had reserved for 2 people. In the end the guy left us standing on the terrace to go and ask other staff members if the 3 of us could have a meal, the issue however could have been much quiquer as there where multiple free tables of different sizes on the terrace with some having enough space to accomodate 3 people. All this was after 2 waiters had previously been stuggling to find our reservation on the list and we had to help them out and find the name on the dinner reservation sheet. So unfortunately the evening was not off to a good stat.
The when bringing out the menus and taking and serving drink orders it quickly became apparent that the service is badly trained, misorganized and very slow. Moreover, we speak french very well and have lived abroad in france previously but many of the waiters were very difficult to understand when explaining the dishes or answering questions as they were speaking very quietly and extremely fast like shy and nervous school kids. Moreover breaks between the meals were sometimes very long and you had to remind servers as ordered water or wine was not brought to the table as it was forgotten, this happened multiple times. Very sad, as the food and view are great. But sadly we will not be back any time soon as the price of the dinner is not reflected in the experience due to the service. Food is still very good but used to be a bit more interesting in the past. Moreover in the evenings the tables could be provided with candles or reading lights as it used to be in the past once...
Read moreI almost never give five stars but the five stars arenât even enough in this one. I will briefly describe my experience and tell you guys what we had.
First we were greeted in a really nice way and were asked where we want to sit. Due to the fact my grandfather is a smoker we wanted to sit outside and they allowed him to smoke as long as nobody was sitting there.
Then they had an English menu and we went for the three course meal with cheese. As a starter we had escargo and foie gras and the main dish was sweetbread and mishroom sauce. The dessert was a millefeuille with raspberries. All in all it was incredible delicious. Waiter were super attentive and the price was with 52 Euros for the full menu also okay. Including wine and Kir Royal we paid 304 Euros.
But so far the restaurant only deserved 4.5 stars. The 0.5 and more comes from the breathtaking view ;)
Only sad thing is, they only had Heineken and Kronenbourg. Guys, just get...
Read moreThis restaurant's view is unforgettable. Inside, it has a very cozy vibe and is well decorated.
The food was very good. However, considering the Michelin distinction, the dishes lacked a little bit of creativity. The truly outstanding dish was the fish we ordered as a main dish, which had a very delicious sour-sweet sauce. Everything else, we found somewhat lacking in strong flavors or textures to characterize the dish. This is somewhat of a nitpick though as the food was still very enjoyable, and the wine was delicious.
As for the service, I'm not sure this place lives up to the Michelin distinction. Our server forgot some drinks and mixed up our plates, twice.
If you're in the area, you can consider it, but the Michelin star outsized the quality of the restaurant in our opinion. Definitely plan on reserving ahead as the restaurant...
