Le Bistrot de Roussillon — Restaurant in Apt

While the atmosphere is good on either terraces, the inside is dark and absolutely dull. We were not seated where we asked for no reason at all. 1st world issues, I suppose.

Prices are OK for what you get served. Be mindful as the Lasagna originates from the freezer, which is so chewy it makes chewing gum weak by comparison. The French fries ate so salty, that they are saltier than the dead sea. Poaching a fish takes longer than preparing a lasagna, as such it was served overcooked and bland. All in all, not impressed in terms of culinary skills available in the kitchen.

As for the service. The service is all over the place. Management should spend less time on the floor doing the work of those who were hired to do their work. Also the frustration of management should be less visible to clients. We have no business with internal issues which reflect on the food and the service.

Le bistrot has a superb view if you are seated outside back, looking over the Lubéron countryside.. But the inside tables are quite dark. Sitting faced to the street is quite nice because you can see passers-by and pretty decorative flowers. The salads are lovely and fresh and generous serving sizes 🙈! I recommend the Salade Ocre. C'est délicieux. But I do not recommend the "lemon cream sauce" ravioli, because it did not taste at all lemony, rather very strongly of onions. Bleh. I rarely take the time to write reviews, but my recent experience at this restaurant was so egregious that I feel it’s necessary to warn others. The waiter who served us was nothing short of a disaster. From the outset, he displayed a level of rudeness that was almost theatrical. It felt as though he was deliberately trying to make us feel unwelcome. His demeanor was not just unprofessional but downright hostile.

I strongly urge anyone considering this place to think twice. Unless you enjoy being treated with blatant disrespect, there are far better dining options out there. Avoid this restaurant and save yourself the...
