Our first poor meal after 3 weeks in France. Nicely greeted and shown to our table. It went downhill from there. Let down badly by histrionics from the waiter. Rushing around like a madman. Dropping things, forgetting things. Rushing clients. My wife and I had the set menu. Herring starter ok, not too smokey, well balanced. Fish soup was a bit too smooth and over processed for my taste. Our main courses arrived about 90 seconds after we'd finished our starters. The beef bouginion was very dry (you'll need loads of dental floss after this). The fish casserole was far too creamy for my taste. Also lots of small bones. Had to ask for a spoon, thought it was an oversight but saw that others, much to their consternation, didn't get a spoon either. The moment we'd finished, our plates were whisked away from us and we were instantly asked what dessert we would like. Ask the waiter for a few minutes which seemed to offend him. Couldn't actually get his attention after that so asked for the bill. We weren't to only customers to have...
Read moreUnbelievably awful. Some of the worst food we’ve had in France - this restaurant should be ashamed. Steak Hache was over cooked and not seasoned, tartare de boeuf was poorly prepared and again lacked the proper seasoning (how can a French chef get this wrong?!), fish and chips was served with raw batter and sent back but replacement was overcooked and mushy (very possibly food service, which is totally unacceptable at these prices!), Moules were actually pretty good BUT contained a piece of plastic bag!! and again sent back. Frites were good to be fair. The waiter coughed all over our drinks and clearly needs more training. The front of house waitress was good and very apologetic but still felt totally ripped off...
Read moreWe were only in Arcachon for 2 nights and chose to eat here for one of them. The portions were very small, the food wasn’t great, and the experience certainly wasn’t worth the extortionate prices. We ordered the burrata tomato salad and the fish. The fish was very small, two small pieces of fish with lots of bones, and the sauce it was in was very plain, served with rice. For €26 this was ludicrous. The service was also slow, we weren’t served water and it was nearly impossible to catch a waiters eye to ask for it. They all seemed very busy even though the restaurant wasn’t full. All in all, a place I would recommend avoiding, especially if you aren’t in Arcachon for very long. Better...
