La Mule Blanche - Restaurant Arles — Restaurant in Arles

The restaurant was recommended from a friend and the food was really good. BUT … the service really can be improved - especially in the way to treat your guests. We had several waiters taking care, but the major one simply was unacceptable. It took very long to be able to order - then we only wanted to drink glasses of wine and he denied to bring the wine list. Excuse me - we are in France - I would expect more choice than - white, red or rose? 🙈 Then we waited for ages and after we checked again, they finally brought it - warm. As we did not want to bother the waiter two much and start a discussion on it, we only asked for ice cubes (they really made the wine drinkable) - which were served with the greatest contempt. The waiter was more busy flirting with the girls passing by than to focus on his job.

Sorry - I would have preferred to write a better review. Maybe this was because of the busy Rencontre time - but still … don’t know if I would give them...

Un tipico ed autentico ristorante provenzale nella bellissima Arles. Situato nella piazzetta di fronte all'hotel de Dieu, tra la via principale che parte dalla plaza della Repubblica o della cattedrale, dove all ombra delle piante secolari, i tavolini all aperto che ti permettono di gustare l 'ambiente, il fascino e la magia delle città del Midì. A Pasqua Arles è in festa, c'è la tradizionale feria, con tori, musica, corride, encierro e tanta allegria. Ieri come nella maggior parte dei ristoranti è tradizione la grande paella, cucinata, con la tradizionale carne e verdura o, vista la vicinanza del mare, nella versione royale con il pesce. E naturalmente anche all'ingresso questo ristorante faceva bella mostra una grandiosa paella preparata da persone espertete anche un informale banco per l'aperitivo, il classico pastis, oppure un bicchiere di fresco e profumato rosé del mont Ventoux o del Luberon con le gustosissime olive condite alla provenzale. Il menu feria, fatto di pochi piatti, vista la grande affluenza, paella,insalate, guardianne di toro, bistecche di toro o agnello, con un uso non eccessivo di spezie. Noi, abbiamo tralasciato a malincuore l'invitante paella maison, che avevamo gustato il giorno precedente e optato per uno squisito piatto di agnello cucinato alla brace con erbe provenzali e ottime verdure, una bottiglia di fresco rose ed una torta casalinga buonissima. Personale gentilissimo e disponibilissimo, che nonostante la grande affluenza di persone nel giorno di Pasquetta ci ha trovato un posto all'aperto e servito in tempi veramente rapidi e con simpatia ed allegria. Prezzo, corretto, (l abbondante piatto di agnello costava 18,00 €uro). Ogni anno che torniamo ad Arles a Pasqua e per la feria du Riz a settembre, facciamo tappa a questo...

Food was very good!!! Waitress was very thoughtful bringing water without asking (it was a hot day and we were dying for fresh water). She also suggested just one kids menu (i have 2 kids) because it was big enough to share ;) and in the end both got ice cream even if just one was in the menu.. highly recommended!!! Our table was also in a nice shade!! ;) Thanks for the great...
