La Guinguette de Neuilly — Restaurant in Arrondissement of Nanterre

Terrible cocktail and starter, most boring main dish, and edible dessert. The service was the only reason for it not getting a 1-star from me. The cocktails were premade (or purchased somewhere else). They were stored in glass bottles and when you order a cocktail, you get the liquid poured out of the bottle in front of your eyes. Easiest bartender job ever! The starter was cooked leek with hard boiled eggs, I don’t know who came up with the idea of mixing these two together, but it was not a good idea. The leek was soggy and the flavors of the ingredients didn’t compliment each other. The main dish was beyond plain. The fish meat was dry and the fish skin was not crispy. Excellent! The "entrecote" was perfectly cooked, and the meat itself quite tasty. Good choice of salami as starter. The menu was very interesting with all local specialities. Needs a second visit, when possible. All the range of desserts was inviting, but Babà au Rhum was THE choice. And what a choice! The cream was something to remember. The location is out of the usual turistic paths, but it really worths the effort to get there and have a fantastic dinner. At summer should be even better, when you can have a meal outdoor. Very nice restaurant near the Seine in Neuilly. I ordered grilled octopus, and as you can see in the picture I got a giant grilled octopus tentacle. It was grilled just right that it gave a nice charred taste, at the same time it’s not chewy. Squishing the lemon juice on top lighted the whole dish up even more. It was great.
