If I could give zero stars, I would. Our visit to Le Relais Gascon was hands down one of the worst dining experiences we’ve ever had in Europe. We arrived with our kids and were made to wait over an hour with no food, while two tables who came 20 minutes after us were served promptly. When we politely asked the heavily tattooed older woman serving the tables about the delay, she responded with open hostility, shooed us away, and later slammed the door in our faces.
To make things worse, the table before us was served pizza. When we inquired, we were rudely told it was no longer available—only to watch another table receive that same pizza minutes later. It felt impossible to ignore that we were being singled out for not being Caucasian and for not speaking French.
And the hygiene? Nonexistent. The busboy casually walked around picking his nose. Completely unsanitary.
The service was rude, discriminatory, and totally unprofessional. The glowing reviews are misleading—this place is a disgrace. Avoid it...

The food was absolutely delicious, unfortunately the staff made it pretty obvious that they did not prefer that we were Americans who spoke little French. We have been complimented by others for our etiquette and kindness many times on our trip to France.
We waited over an hour for our food, while we watched them serve locals multiple courses who arrived and ordered well after us. We ordered a sandwich which and fish and chips. Not complicated. At one point the staff even laughed at us for asking a question.
We spent quite a bit of money to feel so incredibly unwelcome. Kindness to ALL goes a long way, and I hope this restaurant realizes that because as mentioned the food...
Read moreWe had a hard time finding a place to eat so I would highly recommend reservations. Luckily they took us in and we are glad they did. The food was shockingly pretty great. I would definitely return there if ever in the area again. I mostly want to focus on this place being family run. The lady working the front works her butt off. She runs that front area all by herself while her husband and daughter ( I believe ) work in the back. I can see why she turns come customers away and definitely not only because you're English speaking or American. If you're in the area give this place a try and be patient. Maybe use a translator app to make communication easier and more...
