Best Western Hôtel Montgomery — Hotel in Avranches

My friend and I stayed here for one night while doing a roadtrip around Normandy and visiting Mont St. Michel.||We had a great stay, would recommend it, and would absolutely stay again. The property is clean, centrally located, easy to get to the train station buses by foot or car, and it has the most charming garden to sit and enjoy the sunshine and breeze after.||Rooms are basic but our bathroom was updated and comfortable. The room did NOT have air con but we got a fan and that helped cool down the space on a hot June day. ||Breakfast is 14 Euro and a buffet, my friend got the breakfast and said it was a mix of basics and homemade treats. She loved it.||Wifi is pretty good throughout the property but a bit spotty in the garden. We also had terrible general cell service in the city so that was helpful to have for maps, etc.||Manager was so polite and helpful, very courteous. The staff was wonderful and very nice to work with. The building itself was quirky and fun with a tiny elevator and stairways so built that the elevator couldn't reach all the way. So if you have issues climbing stairs you may want to request a ground-level room. There was a large step into the bathroom which I didn't find awful, just saying it was a little out of the ordinary. For me the star down was the shower/bathtub combo. The water pressure wasn't great and the shower had only a half screen of sorts which made the shower leak all over the floor. Booked this hotel at the end of June 22 for a visit in August never received an email confirmation for the booking, called the best western customer service 3 days before the visit to check if the booking was valid and also checked directly with the hotel- both informed me there was NO booking under my name. We then booked another hotel last minute. To my surprise I then received an email @22:37 the night of the booking to advise for a late check in- this was for the booking that didn’t exist!!
