Memphis — Restaurant in Béziers

We have been here 2 times, the first time with children on June 26, 2024 and the second time on June 29, 2024. We had heard from my parents that they served great hamburgers and good ice cream. So on the 26th of June we went there to have a drink and an ice cream with our 2 kids. Drink order was taken and maybe 10 minutes later the ice cream order was taken. Here we encountered the first problem, my daughter is allergic to nuts and that also means nutella as it is made from hazelnuts. When ordering, we ask if it is possible to get chocolate sauce or caramel sauce instead of nutella for the churros, but it was apparently impossible, even though my daughter was allergic to something that was included in the price. We get the dessert after 10 minutes, but then we still haven't received our drink that we ordered 20 minutes ago. He asks if everything was okay and I say No! We still haven't received our drink.. he then says that it takes time to get a beer and a mojito and that it will come soon. We finish our dessert and he comes by again and wants to set the table and I ask again where is our drink? He says it will come soon, I think we sat there for almost 40-45 minutes and he comes back out with the drinks...

The second visit will be Saturday, June 29, without children to eat hamburgers. We got the same waiter and we both feel ohhhh no! We will never get our food. The food and drink are ordered, but we have to ask for the drink from another waitress in connection with our hamburgers being served. He comes out after maybe 5 minutes with the drink but then he comes out with 2 glass bottles that still have the caps on and says he will come back and open them soon. I tell my husband right away that you have to try to open them somehow because he will never come back. It takes between 5-10 minutes and then he comes and wants to open our bottles, which we had already opened ourselves.

My husband and I are eating and talking and the waiter walks past to the restrooms and comes out with a pedal bucket overflowing with diapers and tampons that he goes through the entire restaurant as people sit and eat. Not only does he do this, he drops a tampon at my feet when he walks by, I think he must see this and pick it up, but he walks by when he is going to put the bucket back without even picking it up. I was so shocked by how bad my experience was that I couldn't even bring myself to call the staff and ask them to take care of the tampon because I don't know French and they don't know English.

Do not go here! If you are used to getting the drink before the food, service or if you have a child or are allergic to something yourself as they obviously cannot accommodate requests other than what is...

This Memphis is pretty large. They wanted us (2 persons) to sit in a tiny 2 seat booth and originally said no to letting us sit in a larger booth. We insisted and they let us have a bigger booth. We were the first customers of a Sunday evening in spring, after all.

Service was fast and friendly, yet we know Memphis from our local in Le Mans.

Sadly the bench seats' vinyl are split in many booths which seems to be typical in modern diners like this. There was no soap in the loo hand washing area. This Memphis is quite large...might seat near a hundred, more or less.

When we settled our bill, parking validation was offered and provided without our promoting.

Been here twice, prices are high and the quality on some dishes is on par with mcdonalds, despite that the first time I was there and only ordered a desert it was fine, the second time, however, I ordered fries with cheddar cheese and instead got fries with bacon, I told the staff about this and they replaced my fries with a very unpleasant look on the face. When the new fries arrived, they were the same fries but they had just removed the bacon, I do not consume bacon nor its fat so to me this was outrageous, my friends ate the fries and because of how they were swapped back and forth, they were cold. Never again, and I advice everyone else to choose another...
