We entered the restaurant attracted by the poke bowl offer displayed in front of the restaurant. We were seated and given our menus with no warning of anything in the menu not being offered. The server asked if we wanted something to drink, we said nothing, but she insisted so we accepted a glass of water. After reviewing the menu, we of course wanted the poke bowl. The server told us it was unavailable. It is what we wanted to eat. We asked since we were not given a warning, if they could give us the crepe menu for 16.5E available until 2 pm. it was 2.30 pm when we asked. Despite our initial disk not being offered and not being told at the very beginning of this, the sever and the owner did not want to make any accommodations to our request. Also it should mentioned that the restaurant was empty. What a complete disappointment! To make matters worse, they charged us 1E for the glass of tap water. Such a CHEAP gesture from the server and the owner!
Response to owner - It is inexact what you are saying. The server acknowledged that it was misleading the fact that a big poke bowl banner was displayed outside. This is why we asked if the restaurant would do an exception. Our disappointment came from being misled and directed towards more expensive options We were seated for over 20 min. We left before 3 pm. Please see the timing of the post. Impossible to experience all this and do a post in such little time. The server insisted for us to take something to drink despite our first response being no. She never warned us of the price and she never said it was filtered or anything special - as you surely know not all countries charge for simple tap water, therefore i was completely unaware of the price. We were focused on the food and what alternatives to eat. Good service would include not only expecting your menu to do the job but also the server to provide assistance to the clients. You are correct in that we will never come back.
Second response to owner - I appreciate you looking at my profile. I ask you to please add context to your comment as not all business are restaurants. A rule of thumb is that a happy client will tell 1-2 people, a dissatisfied client will have more motivation to share his/her experience to +10 people. This is why you will usually see more negative reviews on profiles. Moreover, I should add that after reviewing the negative reviews on your profile, you don’t seem to take any responsibility for the customer experience nor have any empathy towards the clientele sharing their negative experience. Your language seems to be dismissive and not only once you take responsibility for any bad experience posted on...
Read moreWe were so lucky to eat lunch here on a cruise stop. I say lucky because we didn’t make a reservation (foolishly) and this place is very popular, I think we must have gotten one of the only available tables. And it deserves its popularity, the food was wonderful - tender octopus, freshly fried sardines, a zesty coconut ceviche and a fish curry my partner devoured. With a crisp and very reasonably priced bottle of French wine to match, hummingbirds stopping by and a lovely patio. What more to ask for! A meal I will remember for...
Read moreExcellent restaurant at Les Saintes with very friendly bilingual service. Everything was delicious, the fried balaou (local sardines) was a nice surprise. Their homemade cocktail and the Jalousy basil lemonade paired beautifully with the food. Ambiance and decor were great too. The writings on the wall were entertaining to read, although they seem to be from the previous restaurant before the current owners. Price was...
