Melting Spot — Restaurant in Bonneville

Poor service and meat gone sour -

I had the displeassure of dining at Melting Spot in Samoens this evening.

Not only did we have to wait a while to recieve our food - while later arriving guests did not - when our food finally arrived we were presented with a dish consisting of sour (possibly spoiled) meat with a side of soggy lettuce and overcooked fries.

Some of the meat was bad enough that we could smell it being bad before even tasting it. We sent the dish back and was quite shocked to find that it was replaced with another piece of bad meat.

Out of 6 pieces of meat 4 tasted sour and none of them were cooked to our specifications. The beef was overcooked and chewy, and only the one we'd ordered as medium-rare was even slightly pink - none of us had ordered our meat well-done.

This might also be partially be blamed on poor understanding of english on their part.

Safe to say that none of us finished the food.

Unimpressed with both the food and the service we decided to leave soon after and at this point we adressed the problem to the kitchen staff. Who refused to acknowledge our complaints.

While we got the worst dish replaced, they refused to acknowledge that there was something wrong with the ingredients or their cooking, and they had the gall to be offended that we'd actually suggest it.

I will not be visiting this...

After being sent to the upstairs area, which lacked atmosphere, we waited for 15 minutes without getting the menu. When asking the server for the menu, he snared back at me, and told me that if we didn’t have time we could leave. The food came rather fast, the cheese fondue (which we all had), was mediocre. Very poor experience. After waiting 45 minutes we finally got our food. Fries were overcooked and tasteless but the steak was the real low point of the dish as the meat had gone sour. We gave it back to the kitchen but the new steak was no better. When I went to pay the bill, the waiter started to complain and got angry with me.
