The highlight of our trip to Bordeaux
During our recent 8-night trip to Bordeaux and Saint Emilion, we dined at some of the top restaurants in the city, including Michelin star establishments. However, the standout meal was at Chai Maestro.
From the warm greeting when we entered to the attentive, friendly service from the manager throughout the night, the dining experience was impeccable.
We began with the tuna tartare, razor clams and shrimp ravioli with foie gras which were all so fresh and expertly prepared. For mains, we had the squid and chorizo risotto made with squid ink, and the beef tartare. The risotto was rich and full of flavor with perfect al dente rice, and the beef tartare was seasoned to perfection. The desserts did not disappoint either - impeccable.
During our entire trip, this was absolutely the best meal we had in Bordeaux. I highly recommend trying as many dishes as possible to fully experience the talented chef's skills. Everything was made from quality ingredients and had so much flavor.
The charming, intimate setting of this local bistro makes it the perfect place for an outstanding French meal. I will certainly return to Chai Maestro first when I visit Bordeaux again in the future. It deserves to be at the top of any Bordelaise...
Read moreWe stumbled to this restaurant on my way back tour accommodation. We were surprised by the creativity of the menu on display. So we had dinner there. Ordering 3 entree and 3 mains (for only 2 people, as we were enjoying the food so much) We loved the octopus, langoustine pasta with foie gras creme, duck's heart, beef tartare, boudin noir et pomme puree, octopus & chorizo black ink risotto and had grand marniere souffle as a finale. We loved the beer and wines there, great pick 👍
Service was great and friendly. We wish that we had more time to go back there and tried other dishes, but we had to leave the town on the next day.
Great job...
Read moreIt was our first day in Bordeaux, for the first time. As each time, in the street, I asked a ‘native’, for a fine, local cooking, and friendly restaurant. We (4 persons) trusted him. The best decision of this day. It has been a great moment : the fine and generous cooking from Momo (chef’s nickname), an artist. And the warm hospitality and accurate wine suggestions from Alex (the boss). The evening has been long, we finished late, talking with others customers we met during this ‘long evening’: we were feeling at home, with new friends.
They are pro, they are warm, and cooking is local, imaginative, tasty and generous. I wish you...
