IT - Italian Trattoria Bègles — Restaurant in Bordeaux

I was disappointed with my experience overall. We had waited a long time and the 2 couples who sat after us had already finished their meals before we got out mains.

We shared a burata for starters and it was home made bread but the bread wasn't very nice.

Our 2 year old had the kids' pasta. It was nice, Al denté, to me it was undercooked and I hope my child doesn't get a tummy ache. Very simple but he was still hungry so I don't think the size was suitable.

My husband had a pizza and I have to admit that it was really nice.

I had the sea food pasta, which was about the same size as the kids'portion. A few tiny prawns hidden. The sauce was nice, the prawns were nice. The portion was too small for me and for my 2 year old.

Overall, the staff didn't check on us to see if we were happy with our meals, I'm a fan of rock salt and ground pepper in a pepper grinder which were not available.

There was no bread like it is customary in France and I think it is customary in italy too.

I left hungry... And disappointed.

The decor was nice but it was cold and the air conditioning was on, they didn't seam to be able to turn on the heating.

There was a high chair available for the little one and had a chat with the owner (?) Who said sorry.

I wouldn't go back unless for pizzas. We were hoping to get desserts too but we were...

IT Italian Trattoria in Villenave d’Ornon is a great stop if you’re passing through the area. Conveniently located in the shopping zone near Exit 20 of the highway A630, it has plenty of parking space and offers both shaded veranda seating and an indoor dining room decorated in a warm Italian style.

The restaurant stays open late until 10:30 PM with continuous service, making it ideal for travelers heading southwest who need lunch or dinner without rushing. The pasta and pizzas are made with authentic Italian ingredients and prepared fresh in-house — you can even see the pasta being made in the glass-front workshop at the entrance.

The service is fast and efficient, and while the pizzas aren’t quite Neapolitan-sized, the quality is excellent. Overall, it’s a reliable and pleasant place to take a break and enjoy a good Italian meal...

J'aurais mis 0 étoiles mais c'est impossible....Établissement Peut être efficace uniquement pour les pizzas à emporter mais totalement inefficace pour le service en restaurant. Service atrocement long pour finalement commander un apéro qu'il n'avait pas, une assiette apéro et nos 2 plats(pâtes carbonara et crevettes), jusque là, pas trop grave hormis l'attente. On nous amène donc l'assiette apéro mais sans les verres d'apéro qu'on a du attendre encore 10mn. On finit donc tout et c'est reparti pour l'attente avec le ballet du serveur qui à l'air de peiner à emporter ses plats un par un. Retour du serveur qui m'annonce que pour mes carbonaras ce n'est plus disponible car il vient de le servir à une table qui est arrivé après nous et qui l'a commandé pendant qu'on prennait l'apéro tant attendu ( un comble pour un resto italien de ne pas avoir assez de stock pour ce genre de plat, gestion certainement inexistante ). Pour palier à mon plat manquant il me propose le même plat que ma compagne qui ne me convenait pas et me propose donc la carte qui ne se fit pas attendre, mais en ce qui concerne arriver à recommander un autre plat pas la même chose... Obligé d'arrêter le serveur qui installait d'autres clients ( un peu marre de le voir passer à côté en détournant le regard ) . Il prit enfin la commande et on est reparti pour 15 mn d'attente. Nos plats enfin arrivé déception, ni bon ni mauvais mais très sec ... Donc soif mais ho surprise pas d'eau... Heureusement qu'ils n'ont pas desservi les verres d'apéro où les glaçons ont commencé à fondre . Ceci terminé on vient nous débarrasser et nous demander si on désire avoir un dessert. On nous donne donc la carte et on recommence encore à attendre. Et là nous voyons le restant du personnel partir fumer la clope laissant le pauvre serveur se démerder tout seul à faire les desserts, encaisser les clients et faire le service ( qui apparemment était déjà assez compliqué pour lui) ... Au bout de 15mn d'attente on a fini par se lever pour aller payer et s'en aller sans avoir pu avoir nos desserts ni cafés... Bref plus d' 1h30 pour avoir un repas où on a pas pu finir ni avoir ce qu'on désire , alors qu'il n'avait que 50 couverts( oui j'ai eu le temps de compter 2 fois), je trouve ça déplorable. Il faudrait certainement revoir la gestion de cette établissement. Moi pour ma part je déconseille fortement ou allez manger là bas le midi quand vous aimez les plats imprévus pour votre séance...
