I had gone on a warm day, maybe 85 degrees and was wanting something cool for lunch. I had seen pics online of their chicken Caesar and decided to order that while outside sitting in the shade.

The menu mentioned a fried chicken cutlet and “a perfectly cooked egg” on top of the Caesar salad. It arrived very quickly, in about 5 minutes. I noticed the egg right away. The white part wasn’t cooked. It was so gelatinous. I scooped as much as I could on to the bread plate.

I then also noticed a lot of the lettuce was old and some was beginning to turn. I picked out that lettuce and put it on the plate as well.

The chicken cutlet was dry. Nothing special. A French woman sat at the table next to me and did a double take when she saw the uncooked egg white and lettuce set aside next to me. She ordered a fish dish that looked very good. Wished I had ordered that.

When the server came to check on me and asked how my salad was I mentioned the raw egg white. She gave a confused look and an exaggerated frown and said, “oh. You don’t like your eggs like that?” And moved on to greet a group that had just been seated. Um, I’d like to meet anyone that enjoy an egg like that? I do like raw egg yolks on some dishes. But not uncooked egg whites.

Anyway, I’m not clear if this was anti-tourist—I don’t think so. While she was a bit abrupt, she didn’t seem unfriendly or hostile in any way. Perhaps I just ordered the wrong item. We really enjoyed the food, wine, and prices for lunch today (Tues 16/5). Unfortunately our experience was blighted by the food waiter who took great care to ignore us as best he could. I don't know if he doesn't like tourists (we actually own a house near here), or people of color, or what, but he made it very obvious he didn't want to serve us. My husband is Asian Pacific and we live in Australia where we have never experienced this sort of blatant behavior. In fact never before anywhere in our combined age of 139 years! So I would love to give 5 stars but cannot. I don't like to give bad reviews but can't...

  • ATTENTION CHANGEMENT RECENT DE PROPRIETAIRES *

J'allais y manger de temps en temps depuis des années, ça a toujours été parfait jusqu'à aujourd'hui ! Au niveau de l'accueil, rien à dire... Explications données sur les plats présentés sur l'ardoise. On passe commande, nous étions 3: 1 burger 16€, 1 tartare de saumon 17€ et 1 filet de boeuf 20€ et 2 verres de vin. Attente correcte.

Ce que j'appelle "des frites" était a priori une "spécialité de pommes de terre", admettons, style potatoes, 5 frites dans l'assiettes qui se battent, pas cuites, blanches, et pleines d'huile... donc pâteux et gout d'huile, immangeable! On demande à refaire cuire les frites... 10 minutes d'attente, même résultat au retour malgré une cuisson supplémentaire! Nous n'avons même pas pu manger en même temps, les assiettes sont revenues quand mon amie avait déjà mangé...

Le burger était bon, rien d'exceptionnel, une tranche de fromage, de la salade, un steak bon et bien cuit... Le morceau de boeuf était bien cuit mais petit, le tartare était bon, rien d'exceptionnel non plus...

Bien trop cher pour ce qu'on a mangé et la qualité de l'ensemble, au moment du paiement: erreur entre le prix affiché sur l'ardoise et le prix demandé... 1€ de + pour 2 des 3 plats... aucun geste commercial alors qu'on a dit au serveur ce qu'on en avait pensé...

Nous n'y retournerons pas, autant manger chez...

Such a beautiful night! The atmosphere of the restaurant is set when you walk into the space and see the ceiling lines with chandeliers. The staff recommended a delicious cocktail with gin that was out of this world. For the main course I suggest the duck. I’m not a dessert person, but our finish with the Coeur Coulant Au Chocolat Tuile de Gruet de Cacao Confiture de Lait & Glace Vanille was delicious. Come hungry the serving sizes are rather large 🍴

Les plats étaient non seulement nutritifs mais aussi riches en textures et en saveurs. Nous avons dégusté un risotto incroyablement crémeux, accompagné de petits pois que j’ai redécouverts avec plaisir: croquants, al dente, parfaitement assaisonnés, avec de délicieux légumes grillés. La présentation était raffinée et donnait vraiment envie de goûter. Le repas s’est terminé par un dessert 100 % vegan: chantilly de coco et ananas grillés, une combinaison simple mais exécutée à la perfection. Au-delà de la cuisine, j’ai apprécié l’effort du chef et de l’équipe pour s’adapter et offrir une expérience gastronomique de qualité. C’était une très belle découverte, et je recommande vivement ce restaurant aux vegans qui souhaitent profiter d’une cuisine traditionnelle revisitée avec créativité.
