Very friendly staff, delicious products (especially the sandwiches made by the minute in front of your eyes!) and the prices are not over the top despite the fact that it’s a completely organic bakery.
I had just one little issue on my first time there: i ordered a chicken-curry sandwich, the young lady made the sandwich in front of me but as i was about to eat it, i realised there was no lettuce and tomatoes —which was supposed to be the case. I asked the young lady and she said ‘oh we ran out of them’. I was a bit flabbergasted since it’s common sense that she should have told me before i paid about 7€ for a sandwich. One of her colleague (who had just arrived btw, she hadn’t even started her shift) said that they might have some at the back, but the young lady said no. To which her colleague replied ‘yes, we have, we just need to cut them’. But the young lady was obviously reticent to do so.
This scene was a bit unreal and annoying and the colleague took the matter into her hands and said ‘i’m gonna get you lettuce and tomatoes’. She went across the street to the restaurant, got back with a box of salad and tomatoes, then filled my sandwich and returned it to me (wearing gloves this whole time of course), and apologised to me, which shouldn’t have been her responsability but more of the younger lady. In the end i was pleased and my sandwich was saved because of her, but her younger colleague clearly needs a better training in basic customer service. She was more busy talking with her other colleague who had just...
Read moreI love this bakery! The staff speaks very limited English and I speak very limited French, but between that, plus some patience and pointing, we got through. The bread is really great. I still don't know what I was actually buying. Every time I asked for a baguette the lady tried to explain that she had no baguettes (I couldn't really understand her) then sold me something which looks exactly like a baguette to my untrained eyes. The pastries are also really nice. (The Pain au Chocolat is not my favorite but everything else is excellent). Tip: on Saturdays at 19:00, everything is 3 for €1! Good time to stock up on sandwiches for the train! (This may happen other days too, but I couldn't...
