We booked a table in the afternoon for that evening. We had a Negroni and Moscow Mule as cocktails before eating. Both were lovely and with generous measures. Next we had a margarita pizza with added red onion and a pasta al pomodoro. The pizza was honestly as good a pizza as I have eaten anywhere in Italy - Naples, Rome, Venice, Florence, Bologna - a true Neapolitan pizza so well made. My wifeâs pasta was also delicious, even tho the menu said spaghetti and it was Casarecce, which is much heavier and more filling. However, it was still delicious just too filling. Not a criticism but more a point to note. The presentation of the pasta was excellent and was covered in Parmesan shavings (or maybe Grana Padano?) and lots of rocket. We then had 2 gelato - vanilla and lemon with Chantilly cream and crushed pistachios - again delicious. The entire meal came to âŹ42, which as the owner proudly pointed out is fantastic value. For those who like real Italian cuisine with quality ingredients, Gusto is a delightful eating experience. If I were ever back in Boulogne Sur Mer I would absolutely eat here again. And then came the dessert⊠the homemade coffee tiramisu was unbelievably light and airy â nothing like the heavy blocks you sometimes get elsewhere.
To top it all off, the owner added a fun personal touch by playing a song and turning it into a mini game: guess the movie itâs from! My husband got it right, which made for such a fun and memorable end to the meal.
The restaurant is small, cozy, and full of heart. Weâll definitely be...
Read moreWe were on a roadtrip across France with our three year old and stayed one night in the old town. Found Gusto and were so pleasantly surprised- the pizza was just the best. We've had a lot of good pizza in London and my friends run a pizzeria, but this was much better. The dough was so light. It was just the perfect pizza. Good toppings, very fresh, top quality. Some lovely simple wine and tiramisu after and complimentary ice cream for our son. The waitress also gave us lots of colouring books and pencils when we arrived and she was amazingly friendly and cheerful. Wonderful vibe. We'd love...
