U Minellu — Restaurant in Calvi

WORST RESTAURANT VISIT EVER - DO NOT GO HERE

I visited in september - and got the most flavorless food i ever had in a restaurant. I got a pasta dish with Gambas (shrimp).

When it came out it was just 2 big shrimps and pasta with a dished tomato. I thought that a mistake had been made and that they had maybe forget the sauce/olie/whatever on it. This was not the case. They toke it away and brought it back with some water pour on it. When I again told them that the pasta was completely flavorless and that the pasta still wasn't boiled enough, they toke it away again and asked if they could bring me something else. They then brought out a plate of plain pasta without ANYTHING. We are talking pasta like anyone could boil it at home. Absolutly nothing on it this time, it didn't even taste like the bother to salt it. How any chef in the world could think to serve a plate of plain pasta in a restaurant, i simply don't understand. Either it must someone who simply doesn't care a bout customers and food standards, or maybe this was some sort of provocation for me complaining about the food. Either way I was so chocked about this, and other guests was chocked to and joked about wether to ask the kitchen for ketchup. Needless to say this really destroyed our evening. The worst part was that the staff in all of this was really unkind and unpleasant, and at the end they delivered a bill for the full price of the meal. I asked them if they found it reasonable to charge for a meal that i had sent back 3 times and didn't eat. They would not change the bill but said we could get drinks. Breath of fresh air... We were just strolling when we saw the street menu...looked at the restaurant and decided to take a shot.... Yesss the food was incredibly good...and even though there was only one person serving...he was more than capable to handle everything and with such good humor and good vibe... that it ended up excellent... The millefuille de legumes with Corse cheese was delicious...and we chose the picanha...cooked to perfection.... the Rose wine...we "borrowed" the suggestion from our next "table" neighbour... and the price was quite reasonable and fair.... Definitely...

If I was creating a experiment in a laboratory to annoy diners I would base it on my visit. Multiple requests for menus, drinks, cutlery, people served out of turn, all delivered in a wrapper of petulant service and a level of "I'm not responsible for that" not seen since my last visit to a local council office. It's a shame as the menu looks great, just the execution is...
