Battered correctly and served with homemade chips and tartar sauce. Washed down with two bottles of the local Joseph Perrier Rose Champagne. We had already tried two brasseries on the main square, both of whom expressed horror at the thought of allowing a small dog into their premises. We tried Le Comptoir and when asked if dogs were allowed not only did they say 'of course' but produced a bowl of water for him without us asking. That set the tone.
Service was friendly and efficient. The food was excellent - I had the burger with comté and my wife had the Brochette d'onglet de boeuf which was sublime. The café gourmand was top quality.
