Le Maharaja — Restaurant in Chambéry

Good food, very friendly place and great location. The terrace is great and the 2 rooms are nicely decorated. I would add one more star if we would not have experienced a hectic service: food served before the aperitives, so we enjoyed a martini with the very good chicken tika massala... Strange but no choice. And we got the Naan for desert... The good thing is that they realized it, apologized and offered 2 naans out of 4 since they came late. Deserts were also really good (try the Indian baba with coco... Superb) Nonetheless, we will return and we hope the hectic service was an exception. Then I will definitely add a star 🌟 For the 5th one : more spicy food would be great! This is too much Europeanized... At least give the option to your customers. That would be great. Great...

Je vais commencer par le négatif: je préférai l’ancienne version de ce restaurant. Les plats étaient servis dans des contenants qui invitaient à se servir et partager. Le choix était plus large. Et surtout c’était moins cher. La, l’addition m’est clairement restée en travers de la gorge. 4 boissons dont un cocktail avec alcool, 2 entrées, 3 plats, 4 portions de riz et 4 cheese nan pour plus de 120€… Les tarifs ont été revus fortement à la hausse. Nous avions réservé à 19h car nous étions avec nos 2 jeunes enfants, on nous a installé, puis oublié! La salle du restaurant n’était pas prête et les serveurs étaient plus occupés à la finir qu’à s’occuper de nous en terrasse. Résultat: près de 20min d’attente pour avoir les cartes et des enfants bien tendus. Un souci également avec les allergenes: ils n’ont pas de carte claire à ce sujet et je suis certaine que la dernière fois on m’avait assuré qu’il n’y avait pas d’œuf dans les cheese nan. Et ce soir, je redemande par acquis de conscience et hop, de nouveau des œufs. Il faudrait plus de rigueur à ce sujet. Et enfin pour finir le côté négatif: nous n’avons pas fini nos plats et avons demandé les restes à emporter. Nos enfants n’en pouvaient plus. On nous a apporté de petits contenants en alu et débrouillez vous! Pas très classe comme façon de faire. A l’époque, les serveurs prenaient les plats et faisait cette opération en cuisine discrètement. Pour le positif: c’était tout de même très bon même si je préférais l’ancienne version du lamb korma. Et mon plat de crevettes manquait un peu d’assaisonnement. Mon fils de 6 ans lui s’est régalé dans l’ensemble. Un bilan plutôt négatif dans l’ensemble qui fait qu’il est peu probable que nous y retournions, ce qui est dommage vu que nous y venions plutôt régulièrement avant. Je mets 3 étoiles et pas 2 car je pense que le goût y est vraiment. Mais le désir de profit et l’augmentation de niveau plus gastronomique ne nous...
