Upon arrival I had to ask the manager ( a busy, uninterested blonde lady, glued to her phone, her mini skirt that would be better placed in La Moulin Rouge and not in a restaurant ) if I could take a seat. There were plates and glasses still on the table from the previous people but she didn’t bother to clear them up, very busy on the phone and doing her admin on one of the tables. The young waiter took my order, entrecôte with chips. Ordered a large beer, got a small one, told the waiter ( when i went to pay, the large beer was actually billed ). Chips looked and tasted like they where reheated from day before, brown and soggy and tasteless and the meat was ok done but leaked a lot and made the chips even more unsightly. Side salad was some lettuce leaves and thinly sliced radish. No mayonaisse or sauce. Recap: food at best, below average, service ok, waiters friendly. I only ate here because it was 6pm and I was hungry, other restaurants open at 7pm. I should have waited. Because of its location they presume they automatically get customers. French people get better a welcome because tourists are 'one off'. Eat, pay and leave please is the attitude I feel from here. I would definitely not dine here again nor would I recommend it. Extra: restaurant owner only replies to positive reviews. Very bad way to do business, just shows they don't know how to take criticism or are willing to change to please new...
Read moreApproached this place looking for a bite to eat, on first impressions it seemed a nice location with seating outside. Sat down and ordered a coffee and asked for a menu. Was moved from the table I had chosen to make way for a local couple. As the waitress blonde featured in the picture of this place, proceeded to serve this couple forgot my coffee and as she could not reach the table I was placed at threw a menu across on to my table. Came back and took the couples order, still no coffee for me.. a young waitress had to lean over a gentleman to take my order of the steak during which the lady of the couple kept hitting me in the arm...lol after my steak arrived which was as plain as a brick. I waved down a waitress and asked for a coffee. Twenty minutes pass watching the staff run around after locals I asked for my coffee again. In the time it has taken me to write this review while waiting for it and my table to be cleared and the one next to me. Dare I ask for the bill and see how long it takes for that to arrive? If you ain't local...
Read moreExtremely rude blonde lady, I guess she is the owner as the other waitresses seemed ok. Asked if there would be a long wait for service as we had a ferry to catch in an hour and fifteen minutes (restaurant had two other tables at the time), asked why do you always do this (pourquoi "vous" faitez toujours sa), we've never been here before so I'm guessing she is referring to tourists. I've lived in France for over 20 years and never had an experience quite like this, even in the deepest french countryside. Never would expect this from a tourist location near a busy ferry port. Food was ok, but nothing special, do not go if you aren't local. Very unprofessional and I have worked in the restaurant industry for over 10 years. Never seen anything quite like this, a shame really as I suspect many English tourists coming from Brittany ferries will experience this place as their first stop in France. Sad impression of the French, thankfully not all French are like this so please avoid, better off going to a local bakery and getting a nice...
