Do you miss the 90s? Or, like me, did you miss the 90s in a haze of 100-hour work weeks and home prescribed anaesthesia? Either way, the 90s are perfectly preserved here. We got off to a rough start, but the lady of the house turned things around completely, and the plates did the comforting. Yes, the kitchen has its party trick assiete of mostly vegetable endorsements of the mains. But these are not tired at all. They're well conceived and executed, and not held endlessly in bain marie. The meats are terrific. The reductions are classic, and they even make their vegetarian offering quite delicious. I've had some miserable experiences with curry sauces in France. But this one is careful, credible, and respectful of the maternal culture from which this baby is ripped. The wine by the glass was the best that Chinon had served up so far. The dessert was creative and executed in classic 90s 1 star Michelin fashion. The ambience is pure 90s chic, down to the poly blend napkins, and very comfortable Didn't think I'd recommend it, let alone return. But i both recommend it with 90s vigour, and I look forward...

I arrived at the location looking forward for a nice meal, at least this is what I was expecting from the reviews, and the waiter told me they are full, even though I could see at least 2 free tables, one of them which opened up as we entered the restaurant. Was it because we didnt speak french ? ..

L.E. that was the problem, it was a waitress, not a waiter, that is the attitude every costumer should expect, the owner is always right, right ?. Instead of actually giving me a straight answer why that happened, the problem is that I said waiter instead of waitress. De passage dans votre ville de Chinon, nous avons déjeuné dans ce restaurant, étant sur le retour, nous avons pris le menu du jour. Hélas, plus beaucoup de choix, mais arrivée tardive. Les plats étaient excellents, bien présentés. Par contre, il semblerait qu'il y ait un petit malaise entre la gérante et la serveuse ! C'est sûr qu'aujourd'hui, il est difficile de trouver du personnel dans ce secteur d'activité, mais il me semble qu'il serait préférable de ne pas le faire voir aux clients. Dès l'entrée, la serveuse est allée voir s'il y avait de la place, hors ça n' a pas plus à la gérante qui nous a fait un signe de tête, en nous faisant comprendre qu'elle en avait marre d'elle !!! Et pourtant cette serveuse a été vraiment très correcte, que ce soit avec nous, ou avec nos voisins de table. D' ailleurs, lorsqu' elle a voulu desservir la table de ces derniers, la gérante lui a dit d' un ton sec " laisse , je vais le faire" !!! Madame, lorsque un problème survient avec un employé, il n' est surtout pas acceptable de le faire voir à ses clients. Et, que ça doit être difficile pour elle, on voit bien, qu'elle ne sait plus comment procéder pour être à la hauteur. Mais elle est jeune, elle va apprendre...
