Caveau du Vigneron — Restaurant in Colmar-Ribeauvillé

Went to eat there after reading the positive reviews. However, when we went there the service was very poor - the waitresses were cold and made us feel unwelcome (unlike other restaurants we've been in Alsace where you are greeted with a welcoming and friendly staff). We also saw a hair in the food and they reluctantly agreed to sort it out, which is again unusual for restaurants. The service took ages too - we had to wait about 30 min for our starter to come and in the end spend nearly 3 hours for our visit due to the long delays. The food itself was ok, but some of the other restaurants we've been were nicer for a similar price. We booked a table for two, several weeks in advance of our Monday arrival in Turkheim, particularly as we understood that on Mondays many restaurants were closed. On arrival at the Caveau du Vignerons we were told they were full and we had no booking - so “we can do nothing for you”. We explained that we had travelled from a distance (UK) and was there anywhere else that we could eat. She offered no help with this. The woman seemed to be under great stress and it didn’t look like she would be delivering a good experience for anyone dining with her...

À la base, nous étions sensé être 6 personnes à venir manger dans ce restaurant. Nous ne pouvions finalement venir qu'à 4, suite à un imprévu. Nous avons bien entendu tenté de prévenir la patronne en téléphonant au resto, en vain. 3 appels, mais pas de réponses. À notre arrivée, nous annonçons donc que nous ne sommes finalement que 4. La réaction de la patronne : "Mais pourquoi vous ne m'avez pas appelé ??" Nous avons trouvé la réaction quelque peu virulente, alors que nous étions quand même une table de 4, déjà pas mal. L'accueil de sa part a clairement été mauvais. Nous sommes arrivés, et directement nous avons eu cette réaction qui n'a même pas lieu d'être. Nous ne nous sommes, pour être honnête, pas senti la bienvenue dans le resto. Même si cet imprévu impacte parfois un restaurateur, les placements des tables ou que sais-je, ce n'est pas sensé être notre affaire. Surtout que le restaurant n'était pas complet ce jour-là. Nous nous sommes finalement installés, et suite à une explication claire et détaillée de comment fonctionne ce qu'elle appelle son call center, afin de justifier le fait qu'elle ne répondait jamais, elle s'est tout de même décidée à s'excuser. Enfin bref, ce n'est finalement qu'un petit point noir sur notre soirée, car je tiens quand même à préciser que la cuisine était excellente, et que la jeune serveuse de 18 ans était très pétillante et...
