Very Disappointed – Rude Staff and Poor Handling of Situation I do not recommend this place due to the incredibly rude and unprofessional behavior of the staff and manager.
We originally asked for a table for 10, but the place was busy were a table for 6 and another for 2 nearby which was fine. My toddler started having a meltdown because he wanted pasta for breakfast, so I took him outside to avoid disturbing other customers. (Because i'm a good customer)) I stood outside in the burning sun for over 30 minutes while my husband went to get some leftover pasta from our car all while the rest of our group (7 people) were already inside, had ordered, and were eating.
When we came back in and I opened the container to feed my toddler, the waiter ran over like a thunderbolt, telling me that bringing outside food wasn’t allowed. I calmly explained that it was my toddler’s food and that we had all already ordered & the kid doesn't want anything from the menu He insisted that this is not allowed . I asked him, “so you're kicking me out?”
He insisted that this is not allowed & then said: "This is not a picnic area."
I was shocked. & i told him "this is so rude " He said they had a kids’ menu but after such treatment, there’s no way I’d give that place another cent.
I went outside again to feed my child. Later, my brother-in-law politely spoke to the manager to explain what had happened, and instead of apologizing, she backed the staff and even said, “You’re not good customers.” She falsely claimed we had 15 people inside completely untrue. There were only 7 seated; my husband, toddler, and I were outside the entire time until the moment we re-entered briefly with the pasta. At most, there were 10 of us and only 5 minutes where we were all inside.
I completely understand that restaurants have their own policies, and I respect that. But the way this situation was handled was beyond unprofessional. Telling a parent trying to feed a distressed toddler that this “it isn’t a picnic area” especially when we had all ordered is just unacceptable.
I’ve traveled all over the world, and this was honestly the rudest staff I’ve ever encountered in a tourist location. For a place representing their country to tourists, this was a very poor example of hospitality.

Read moreMokka Café in Colmar is a cozy little gem that’s perfect for a slow, indulgent breakfast or a relaxed afternoon break. Tucked in a charming corner of the town, the café combines modern aesthetics with a warm, inviting vibe—exactly the kind of place you want to stumble upon while exploring the picturesque streets of Colmar.
I ordered a bowl (açaí-style), a croissant, a coffee, and a slice of pistachio cake, and each item had its own standout character.
The bowl was fresh, vibrant, and beautifully presented. It had the perfect balance of fruits, granola, and yogurt—light but satisfying, and full of natural sweetness. It felt refreshing and wholesome, making it a great choice for a healthy start to the day.
The croissant was wonderfully flaky and buttery, with just the right crispness on the outside and a soft, delicate interior. It tasted fresh out of the oven and easily rivals some of the best I’ve had in France.
The coffee was smooth, rich, and served with care. It wasn’t overly bitter or acidic, just a well-balanced cup that paired perfectly with both the croissant and dessert.
Now, the real highlight for me was the pistachio cake. It was soft, moist, and not overly sweet, with a deep pistachio flavor that tasted authentic and nutty—not the artificial kind. The texture was spot-on, and it was the kind of dessert you keep thinking about long after you’ve left.
Overall, Mokka Café offers high-quality food in a beautifully curated space. Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or sitting down for a slow brunch, it hits the mark. I’d definitely return—especially for that...
Read moreThe coffee and pastry were both good — in fact, the pastry was very good . Unfortunately, our experience was ruined by the behavior of one male staff member, who acted very unprofessionally and rudely.
We had a young boy with us who was crying and wanted his pastry from his lunchbox. This staff member angrily told us that “this is not a picnic center,” in a very unpleasant tone. Later, when I paid for my order at the counter to one of his colleagues, I tried to politely explain to him that there are better ways to speak to customers. I mentioned that it’s not reasonable to tell us it’s “against the sales policy” to bring outside food, especially when it was just a small snack for a child, and we had already ordered additional items.
He then told me, “You must be a good customer — if you say you are six people, then don’t be fifteen.” I explained that we were six adults and four children in total, which is not excessive, and we were sitting quietly at a table near the toilets. We were not disturbing anyone, and we were not all gathered together at once. Despite this, he did not listen and continued with his unfriendly attitude.
I do not recommend this place because of his unprofessional and resistant behavior, which overshadowed the...
