Winstub La Taverne — Restaurant in Colmar-Ribeauvillé

I was there after Christmas and before New year's Eve. During this season, this place is usually crowded. However, it is not worthy. We needed to go there a day after since we didn't make a reservation and when the time came, we sat at our table unattended for 20 minutes (the place was getting empty already) as the waitress preferred to clean other tables before taking our order; no one speaks English (not uncommon in small regions in France) but German was helpful though. The service was terrible: long wait for the food and it arrived not so warm; a glass we ordered never came until we asked the cook directly, the food quality was lower than expected (I ordered a steak but I was never asked about how I wanted it,so it came well done sadly),the dish variety is not large at all despite being a region where French and German cuisine fuse with each other; the prices are slightly high but the taste is not worth it, the deer steak was not juicy nor fresh at all. I have never seen such terrible manner restaurant in my life! We're a group of 12 people mostly Asians. When I saw there were plenty of places inside as well as on the terrace. There should not have problems for us to stay. The waitress looked at me with a strange look and said that she would check with her supervisor. I was staying outside and waiting for my group. When they arrived I went again to ask if we could stay. This supervisor looked at me with disgust. Then he said it's full tonight and no more places for us. My husband who is European arrived and asked him if he could find places, suddenly this guy showed more enthusiasm towards him. But the moment I explained to this supervisor that we were the same group, then he declined to us. That's fine! We left and felt so bad about it. Very, very disappointing, I do not recommend it at all. It took them half an hour just to take our drink orders, and once ordered, they made three mistakes, adding another 15 more minutes to get the right drinks. Two family members ordered tomato juice, which they brought in the Granini bottle as is, and they had to prepare it themselves at the table using the salt and pepper available. My mother’s beer was warm, we ordered water that never arrived, and we eventually gave up on asking for it. We had to get up several times to ask for things, whether it was the dishes or the bill, because they never came to the table, and when you did ask for something, they gave you a bad attitude. The only thing we enjoyed, at this point laughing at how absurdly bad the situation was, was the chocolate dessert.
