Okay this is going to be detailed...First and foremost the front of house staff was great. Super nice and very knowledgable on their plates. The servers have the toughest job in terms of mental capacity because they have to present the demands of the chefs as well as deal with customers and their demands. Hats off to them. The chefs have an obvious understanding of their profession as well as a passion that comes out in the food. The food. It is what you want. There is a comprehension of mixing flavors and texture like an orchestra mixes all the different instruments to give a masterpiece performance. The flavors are simply put together like well built legos on display at the lego headquarters. I really enjoy when people do their job and they do the job better than the rest. It's just watching a well built machine run impeccably. The cocktails are superb. Old fashioned was spot on couldn't have asked for anything better. The wine selection is what you want. They have a Spanish red at the moment that is what I have been looking for for years here in France, but I like very dry wine. The atmosphere is very warm and welcoming, I don't get that cold modern feel at all as well as I don't feel like I just walked into my great aunts house. the clientele are of all sorts and they have plenty of English speaking people as well, which shows they can cater to English speakers. not to say you shouldn't try to speak a little French, its just nice and I'm sure will bring a smile to the servers face đ. Also I need to call back and ask what coffee beans they use because my expresso was very good. Loads of flavor. En bref. This place has a very homey welcoming kind of feel at the same time as being a up to date modern kind of feel. They use the best local produce only and change the menu constantly. The passion is just dripping from every bite you take, as well as the delectable sauce. Service is phenomenal and deserves a long review of its own. This place is for being happy and letting your taste buds scream like they're in the front row at a Lynard Skynard concert, or Johnny Hallyday if you will. Thank you so much to the entire staff, front of house as well as back of house. I appreciate you all and what you do. If I could I would cook you all family dinner to reciprocate the same experience you gave me. Bonne continuation et Bonne...
Read moreWe were excited to dine here after reading the positive reviews. From our personal experience, the only positive thing about this restaurant is the nice decor and the fact that it's located in the charming town of Dinan.
We ordered the "Menu dégustation autour du homard", which boasted 7 courses, for 69 Euros per person. The chef is creative with the flavours and presentation of the dishes. However, despite the pretty looking plates, there was practically nothing to eat, hardly any lobster in sight, and some courses were extremely salty - to the point of being uneatable. To add insult to injury, when we told the waitress on three occasions (in fluent French) what was wrong with the dishes she was indifferent and clueless. When clients give direct honest feedback, any respectable chef or staff should take it into consideration for the overall improvement of the business.
The best part was when after 4 "courses" of nothingness, the main dish arrived, which was supposed to be duck and lobster. The chef ran out of duck so instead he placed a tiny morsel of blood sausage on top of the half lobster tail. In what world does blood sausage replace duck? The lobster tail was cut in half and about the size of a shrimp/crevette rose. When we complained, the waitress said the only thing they could do was send it back to the kitchen and remove the blood sausage. Really? I think I'm capable of doing that myself. What a disgrace!
Everything was eaten, as I'm a firm believer in not wasting food. Disappointingly, after spending 170 Euros for 2 people, who aren't big eaters, we had to get a crepe after dinner because we were...

I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel compelled to speak up after my recent visit. I made it very clear to the staffârepeatedlyâthat I am pregnant and needed my food to be thoroughly cooked. I even acknowledged that I understood this might alter the flavor, and I was totally fine with that. My only priority was the safety of my unborn child.
Despite this, my starter of scallops arrived undercooked, making it impossible for me to eat. Then my main course (red meat) was also served undercooked. I asked politely for it to be sent back and cooked well-doneâagain, for health and safety reasons during pregnancy. When it returned, it was still undercooked and unsafe, so my husband ended up eating my meal as well.
When we paid, I calmly told the staff that they were taking a significant risk by ignoring a very clear health concern. Instead of an apology or even acknowledgment, I was told by a man on staff that âit was fineâ and I could have eaten itâcompletely dismissing my repeated requests and the medical guidance followed by health agencies around the world.
Itâs not just disappointingâitâs reckless. And being mansplained about whatâs âsafeâ for my pregnancy after being ignored throughout the entire meal was infuriating. I wonât be returning, and Iâd caution anyoneâespecially if you have dietary restrictions, allergies, or health needsâfrom trusting this place with...
