Le Relais de Barbizon — Restaurant in Fontainebleau

I'm in love with this restaurant. Found this place coming back from visiting Fontainebleau. I never expected the food to be so well prepared and of such high quality. I ordered a plate of foie gras. This appetizer was pure heaven. The presentation and the quality was outstanding. Then I had a steak with pepper sauce with French fries. This was also outstanding. To end this meal I had some of the best cheese I ever had in France. I also have to mention that the wine was also great . The decor was very elegant and the a very chic clientele. Next time I travel to France 🇫🇷, I will definitely dine at this place. Taking into consideration the quality of the food, the service, and the refined ambiance of this restaurant, I expected to pay a lot of Euros for this exceptional dining experience, but I almost fainted when I got the waiter handed me the bill it was 110 Euros for 2 people. This restaurant did not deliver on food, service, comfort or surroundings.They only deliver on the bill!!! Moderate food, I got a cold Lobster Ravioli dish, heavy pasta, hardly any lobster and smothered cold cream. Unformed staff. Items on the menu were not available and were unable to answer questions without checking with the kitchen. Uncomfortable chairs and cluttered surroundings, shabby toilet facilities... had to go look for soap and toilet roll in the cleaning cupboard.
