Chez Luigi — Restaurant in Grasse

I hate having to do negative reviews. I do them very infrequently but feel I must in this case.

Food: average Atmosphere: good Service: poor

We are locals having lived in Vence for a couple of years now. We are not tourists. When our bill arrived it was 34.50 euros, I paid with a 50 euro bill. Change came back 10 euros short. He would not acknowledge me and was trying his best to avoid me. Finally I had to nearly yell “Monsieur” to get him to come. He went back and retrieved my 10 euro having never said sorry or acknowledging his mistake. Just a dirty look. Good little Italian restaurant, nicely positioned next to Vence old town.

The restaurant was quite busy on the day we visited, perhaps busier than expected. That meant waiting a very long time to be served. Fortunately we were not in a hurry.

Food was well cooked and tasty … when it arrived. Good selection of different Italian favourites plus a couple of plat du jour options. Would like to try the pizzas next time - they looked really good. House wine was acceptable.

Highly not recommended. The pesto pasta is not tasty, the sauce is not prepared properly, just ground basil with oil.. And the pizza is bland and not tasty either. But beyond the quality of the food, the attitude is really bad. Our daughter didn't like the pasta and we asked to replace it with pizza. They charged us for both the pizza and the pasta...
