La Peña — Restaurant in Grasse

This is the first time in my life I have ever written a Google review, and unfortunately it has to be a negative one. I ordered a fillet steak medium, but it came out well done and dry. The fries were bitter, and to make things worse, I even noticed a small insect on the plate. The staff apologized and said it had flown in, but it was still unpleasant.

Service was also very slow — we waited at least half an hour for the main course. I had ordered a dessert, but after finishing my meal and waiting another 10 minutes, the staff asked if I wanted anything else, only to admit they had forgotten my dessert and that it was already sold out.

To be fair, the staff were polite and later told me they could have replaced the steak if I had spoken up earlier, which I appreciate. But the overall experience — overcooked steak, bitter fries, forgotten dessert, slow service, and hygiene concerns — was extremely...

We were on the hunt for a good place to get a proper steak, and La Peña did not disappoint. Honestly, I don’t often leave reviews, but this meal was something special — beautifully cooked steak, packed with flavour, and served in a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

The quality of the food far exceeded expectations, and the price? Absolutely amazing for what you get. You can tell they care about what they do here, and it shows in every bite.

we had an amazing lunch today at La Pena! We had the duck with fries and the special of the day, veal, and both dishes were absolutely delicious. The duck was perfectly cooked and the fries were crispy, while the veal was tender and flavorful.

The portion sizes were also quite generous, so we left feeling completely satisfied. And to top it off, we thought the prices were really reasonable for the quality of food we received. Overall, we felt like we got a great value...
