Le Bistrot — Restaurant in Grasse

My husband threw up in the hotel after we ate there. The place presents itself as a bistrot but the food does't even resemble the dishes you find in a French bistrot. I had lamb, it was a plain steak you'd see in an American dinner, my husband had creamed fish - unidentified pieces drowning in over-seasoned souce (to hide freshness? He threw it up when we got back). We ate in bistrots in other places in France and we know what to expect in this price range - this one is a sham. We went there because of the rating, I don't know how this place got its rating, if it's from people who don't know what they should expect or by other means, but the online score absolutly doesn't represent the place. Perfect service by extremely ambitious family. Very friendly, fast, and lovely…They accept your time to choose your menue also in super busy days. We are here already for the 3rd year now- our place to be every evening when we are in Juan les Pins. The restaurant offers super food. Used to have a very nice ambiente but unfortunately the ambiente lost a lot of quality…there are more and more crowds of cheap American tourists who cannot behave, they are very loud and kill the evening so that in most days we had to leave earlier instead of taking desert. All in all great restaurant but definitely lost a star this year due to cheap and noisy American guest groups almost...

We booked table to enjoy a romantic dinner for one of our last nights on the French Riviera. This is a cozy dinning setting with kind personal.

We received our food and it looked fantastic! My girlfriend really enjoyed the meal yet sadly I had an allergic reaction due to a mistake in the kitchen. The way the staff and owner of the restaurant handled this situation was highly professional and this is the reason to a five star rating.

Other restaurants wouldn’t be bother by such mistake, but these guy knew exactly what to do and took the responsibility. We all do mistakes and I will come back to give them a second chance.
