Le New Punjab — Restaurant in Grasse

I adore this place. I've never been to India, but this is my favorite Indian, even out of all the places in NYC. I've been loving this place for 4 years now and it is the highlight of my trip to Grasse each year. The shrimp biryani is flavorful and not fishy. The korma is my typical order and the lamb is always tender. The vindaloo was a surprising delight. Yes, it is spicy but it's a delayed heat. You get plenty of time to enjoy the flavor before the heat sets in. The madras is also a solid choice as is the samosas, the paneer, and the naan. Disappointing.... We ordered takeaway for 3 people, coming to a total of 62.50€. For that price, you would expect the food to be brilliant, however it was far from it. All three of the main dishes were extremely salted, one of which just couldn't be eaten. In addition, the ratio of sauce-to-meat was appalling. This is the second time we've tried this restaurant and have been disappointed both times. If you want good indian, cook it yourself or go to the UK. Je tiens à m’exprimer sur mon expérience du 14/02/2023 qui est selon moi inadmissible. Avec des amies, on décide de se rendre à ce restaurant afin de manger toutes ensemble pour la saint Valentin. On arrive pour 20h30 comme prévu, on commence à attendre 30min, 1h, 1h30. A ce moment là, on a commencé à chercher le regard des serveuses qui n’avaient pas l’air de nous prêter de l’attention. Au bout de 1h40, on vient enfin nous prendre la commande, je cite « nous vous avons oublié nous sommes vraiment désolée ». Apres la prise de commande, on a du au bout de 20 minutes (on est à 2 heures après notre arrivée) réclamer une carafe d’eau ainsi que nos cocktails commandés, personne ne s’est soucié de savoir notre ressenti. Rien a dire sur le repas encore heureux puis-je dire. Cependant, en fin de repas, nous avons attendu encore 30 minutes avant de recevoir l’addition malgré plusieurs demandes. Nous avons poliment demandés un geste commerciale que ce soit pour les boissons ou n’importe quel plat. La réponse était « on peut vous offrir qu’une liqueur », cette phrase étant dite à des jeunes de 21 ans à 23h30 comme ci ça allait changé les 3 heures passés dans le restaurant au total.
