Les arcades — Restaurant in Grasse

We tried many of the restaurants on this strip and they all were fairly good. On our last night we came here after walking by numerous times. Boy do we regret that! First, the literally sat us in a table in a doorway to the patio. Then our fellow doorway couple ended up getting our meal. The other couple realized they got the wrong food but couldn't speak French or English so they ended up eating it. Well, they finally got the attention of the waiter and he took back one of the dishes (happened to be my pasta) and lo and behold they regarnished it and gave it to me! Then, my wife ended up getting the steak which our fellow door couple had ordered (she ordered the duck) and after telling the waiter it was steak, he emphatically responded "non" so, we quickly dismissed their offers for deserts and paid and left. Total ripoff and bad food. Do not eat here! We ordered the plat du jour for 10.50 euro. One with fish and one with meat. The fish was undercooked and had a weird taste. The beef was chewy and barely cooked. Then the bill came 27 euros. I complained. The waitress said that because we did not want the desert we were charged for the water, which was included in the menu formula which we explicitly did not order. Then she talked back and said we had a “fantastic meal” for 27 euros. The food sucked, we were ripped off and our experience was ruined. Bad food, horrible service...

Don't go here! It seems a good deal because of the low prices, but they are trying to get you to leave as fast as possible. The food is not special and boring! The atmosphere is not comfortable and your bill gets slapped on the table without the waiter saying anything or even looking at you! As you stand up the table is already set in 10 seconds for the next poor guests... A one time mistake every tourist here makes, as it is one of the first restaurants you see when looking for food.
