Lovely atmosphere, with room for a few improvements
Baba is a beautiful spot by the beach, with charming mid-century vibes and a warm, inviting ambiance. The restaurant leans into a Middle Eastern feel, with some lovely Lebanese touches. One detail I particularly appreciated was the inclusion of kitchen staff on the menu – a thoughtful gesture that really enhances the family-friendly, welcoming spirit of the place.
That said, there are a few small areas that could be improved. The absence of salt and pepper on the tables felt surprising, as did the lack of olive oil or bread, which would naturally complement the Middle Eastern-Mediterranean theme. It also felt unusual in a French setting not to be offered bread as a basic courtesy.
Another point to consider is the water: instead of the usual carafe, we were served a €12 bottle – which felt excessive. Pricing in general (especially for simple items like fruit platters or coffee) seemed steep. While I’m used to high-end establishments and have travelled extensively trying niche spots and boutique hotels, the value-for-money balance could benefit from a little reassessment.
Lastly, while the bar side offers seasoned nuts with drinks, the restaurant side didn’t include any extras, which creates a slight inconsistency in the guest experience.
Despite these minor issues, I do recommend Baba – the setting is lovely, and the atmosphere is truly enjoyable. These are just a few constructive thoughts to make the experience...

Restaurant: We loved the overall design (together with beach club and hotel). It gives you 70’s/80’s vibes Amazing, attentive, charming service. Really outstanding Food is so delicious. We wanted to order everything on the menu. Super tasty, great flavours and mixes of different international kitchens
Beach Club: While the design and experience is nice, the service is just poor. Too cool for school but still forgetting orders. And to make things worse, when we wanted to pay as almost the last guests they figured out they had a difference in daily billing (what went out vs cash in). They asked us numerous times if we had these drinks and those sodas things - we didn’t - and kept us waiting to figure out what went wrong. For us, it felt like they wanted to blame us and invoice us the outstanding amount on their daily overall P&L. This is really not acceptable but we were to chilled from the relaxing day to get angry. Just a tip: if you charge like a 5*-établissement, then treat your guests accordingly or invest in proper training. Just don’t start blaming your guests for your inability to manage a day’s beach club income or your mistakes
PS: Thank you for your answer. We were a couple, not part of any group. So any misunderstanding with separate payments or incomplete settlements did not...
Read moreIf ever there was a venue to single out for daylight robbery; it’s Baba. We are no debutant to beach clubs around the world however today was a shocking reminder of what to avoid.
The pretty Instagramable venue translates to sardines packed in on a lovely beach with sassy beachside service.
There is a beautiful large mosaic pool which no one was usually and we were told on this ‘occasion’ they would allow me as an outside guest to use.
My daughter ordered a Beer and Lemonade which we call a Shandy; the French call a Panache. When the beer arrived without the soft drink, a snooty ‘Beach Specialist’, or ‘Plageist’ told her they don’t serve lemonade like it was beneath them. He’s 18.
For the privilege of being packaged in from all sides, scolded to use the pool and order a lemonade, 2 beers and one San Peregrino we were charged 150 euros for two hours.
The ‘Plageist’ could not understand why a tip of 20 percent was not forthcoming for his charming service. Reality check …
There are many beautiful beaches in this area with venues serving all meals and beverages without the lip and side eye. Oh and high price tag. I ordered the same at Juan Des Pins for 27 Euro. Wow....
