We celebrated my stepmother’s 80:th birthday. It was also our third visit there. The first in 1994, second in 2005 and now thirty years later we came back again. Obviously because we liked it and also for nostalgic reasons. Food was delicious (some had Poulet and some Tagliaone with Lobster). The different wines we had gave value for money. Athomsohere fantastic. A bit noice with live music from the bar next door. All the staff was very accommodating, positive and service minded. Except for one person. Probably the owner or head, because he had no white clothes as the others. He did not respect that we wanted to order a small portion for my daughter, because she was above 12. I confirmed it was not about the price, it was all about the size of the dish. He was so offended that I actually asked him if we should leave, not to destroy the celebration. He never executed on all our orders he took, and never turned up at our table again. Very unprofessional for a high profile restaurant. The others compensated for his unpleasant manors. Let’s see if we will go...
Read moreThere weren't many choices in this small Beach town and our hotel (Eden Roc) recommended this as a quick simple casual place, which they're spot on about.
The place draws a lot of tourists as it's well located. The vibe was mixed, there were elderly folks, couple's and families all dining inside and out. I'd recommend dining inside as you're quite close to the street and there were a ton of insects maybe from the flowers that line the front of the restaurant? It was annoying though and they like to pack the outside before seating people inside, also annoying.
Food wise it was pretty casual and bistro like food. Fish soup was actually quite good, lots of flavor from shrimp heads or lobster and white fish, escargot was pretty neutral and the sole menuiere (sp?), for two which was ok, but not great.
Staff was a mix of friendly and a bit pushy, prices were a bit more than what the food reflected.
I'd probably try the bigger one down the same street, think it was called the institution or something. Big white place that was...
Read moreLe Perroquet attracts both casual visitors and locals. It is a white tablecloth establishment and shows a certain old times elegance. The menu is interesting and the food is well presented and tasty. Service is adequate to modern tradition. Next to the pinède of Aleppo pines one finds this historic restaurant which serves honest, fresh and tasty seafood whose list changes every day. A special mention deserves the Japanese style grilled tuna meat slices… We return almost every year.
UPDATE: Still friendly and attentive service. Simple and classic seadfood menu. Dishes are well presented and service is fair. It is the local historic restaurant offering fresh food. The excellent Japanese style grilled, but raw, tunafish slices are a must. Good choice of wines and a fine...
