Was quite excited about eating here after reading reviews, but was honestly a little disappointed in the food. The chateaubriand steak was nice, but fairly overcooked on one end (it happens sometimes, c'est la vie). That would bother me less if it weren't quite expensive at around €29, but the main thing that seemed overlooked was the accompanying food. The grilled veg seemed to just be quite thin, dry and soft- i couldn't detect any seasoning or oil or anything. This wouldn't be an issue if it were very fresh and juicy, but instead it tasted like it was old. That was an additional €8. There was also bread, which was verging on stale, again with nothing to make it interesting other than the salt and pepper on the table. I feel like if you're going to make something so basic you really need top level ingredients to carry it off (and justify the price), but that was missing for me.
I can't fault the service, and the location was authentic. Price was what you would expect for the area, but purely i think I set my expectations too high...

My experience at Salé/Sucre in Antibes was absolutely fantastic! We started with an appetizer that included crab, prawns, cuttlefish, octopus, and clams, which delighted us with the freshness and quality of the seafood. The first course, a pasta with clams, was simply divine, with a perfect combination of flavors and a generous portion. The highlight of the evening was the dessert: a chocolate heart with pistachio gelato, a blend of taste and pleasure for the palate that beautifully concluded our dinner. The prices were more than reasonable considering the quality of the food and the impeccable service. I would like to personally thank the owner for the attention and courtesy shown during our visit. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an authentic and memorable culinary...
Read moreWe stumbled upon this amazing place while looking for gluten free food for my husband. It was fantastic! The food selection, even the GF food selection, was amazing. You couldn’t choose a bad item on the menu. We had cantaloupe/prosciutto with mozzarella and salad greens. It was enough for 4 adults as an appetizer. Then 2 adults got the chateau briand and 2 of us got the Shakshuka 2 different ways. For dessert, crème brûlée and GF tiramisu were huge hits. They also offered GF pasta. This is a family run business, with mom, dad and their son. Mom was good with English and the son was excellent, but all 3 were helpful and offered great service.
The music and atmosphere were terrific too! It was situated just off the main square, which made it a little more quiet and welcoming. I’d recommend this...
